Did you buy a mat or those foam click together squares for their family room/playroom/nursery? I want to get something for our family room at some point for when M starts moving around more. What do you use and how big is it?

We used foam tiles for our family room where LO spent most of his time. Eventually he started to pick up the pieces and try to eat them. Once he started to stand on his own and walk along furniture, we took out the foam tiles. I found that it got in the way and became a tripping hazard when he started walking.

Yep. We just got those cheap interlocking foam floor mats. We usually put a blanket over them because we have dogs and the dog fur sticks to them and is such a pain to get off.

We have this Korean Pororo mat: http://www.amazon.com/Parklon-Soft-Playmat-Pororo-Alphabet/dp/B004XJE2H6
It's on the pricier side, but super cute, durable, and easy to clean. It's also quite comfy and LO loves to roll around on it.

We got the Sesame Street one from BuyBuyBaby- it is about 3 feet square, and cost about $20. I love it since it doubles as a puzzle. My 8 month old loves to crawl all over it and pull the sides off and wave them around- it sure keeps him busy!
Eventually we will probably pick up a few more since we have tile floors and he is working on sitting up right now.

We have one of the foam interlocking floor mats. We bought it a few days ago at Toys 'R Us. It was on sale for $18! I would definitely check there if that's what you decide to go with. Ours is 36 square feet.

I've heard excellent things about the Korean one posted up thread. If I had to do it all over, I'd get that one.
I have two, one with numbers and one with shapes. My kindergarten aide mother suggested getting one with as few pieces as possible so it's not such a pain to clean up.
I have this shapes one:
I also think this one is cute:
