Same here - they're cute and all but I don't quite see the appeal of HAVING to have one!
cantaloupe / 6610 posts
They're cute and she can be a "big girl" sitting in a chair instead of sitting on the sofa or a normal chair where she could fall off or hurt herself....I don't want her to sit on the floor the rest of her life lol
honeydew / 7235 posts
We don't have one (or similar) yet - but they are great so try have a place to sit (not floor like princessbaby just said)
I don't care if its a PBK one but I want to get LO something like this in our new house - maybe for Xmas!
honeydew / 7235 posts
Btw - I'm wary of the anywhere chair now after seeing @hilsy:s post! Looked like slip cover didn't fit nicely.

I think my mom is getting one for M for Christmas. Agree with PP--gives LO a soft place to sit other than the floor or sofa. Plus, I think they're super cute!

I'm not hell bent on a PBK one. But I am hoping that it's popularity is due to it's longevity and not just for the sheer fact that it's PBK?
Otherwise I'd much rather spend less on a non PBK one.
And I also have a $50 GC to PBK and I'm just not willing to spend that on a towel. LOL
wonderful pear / 26210 posts
I bought one so my son would have a place to sit, but it's really glorified foam and a slipcover.
There are better options out there, I think Mrs. Wagon did a post on kid chairs!

For people who have one or a similar non PBK one, how old were your LOs when they started using it? Also recs for non PBK ones that are still cute and comfy?

@hellobeeboston: I kind of wish I didn't get one the slipcover looks awful!!
honeydew / 7235 posts
@hilsy85: oh no maybe see if you can return it? Or get some kind of deal? Send them you picture! That is not properly fit!
cantaloupe / 6610 posts
@hilsy85: I think they'll take it back! They are so good with CS!
squash / 13764 posts
@PrincessBaby: @hellobeeboston: yup I can return it ...I already returned one and had them re send another but it has the same issue. Not sure yet what I'll do since leo does like the chair...

Oh ok. We have a chair but it isn't PBK. I was just wondering if this particular chair has super powers or something!
wonderful pear / 26210 posts
@hilsy85: mine does too, my mom always comments on how bad it looks....I think it's more a function of the foam than the cover in our case. It just looks "mashed up" and loose.
GOLD / wonderful coffee bean / 18478 posts
@Foodnerd81: both of my kids really got into chairs around 9 months. They love climbing in and out.
We have an inexpensive chair but it has lasted us 3 years so far and looks great. I am sure they have other designs, but we have this one:

@hilsy85: you probably checked already, but are you sure you didn't fold it together wrong? I forget what it was with DS's but, when I put it together first I put the either the back as the seat and seat as the back and the cover just didn't fit right. It took me a bit to realize I put it together wrong.
J loves his. He reads books in it. He goes there when he wants to put on his shoes by himself. He sits his stuffed animals in it. And it looks great in his room
wonderful pear / 26210 posts
@hilsy85: I think that's actually a good thing...ours was too, but then the foam compresses and now it's slipping off.
Ours is about a year old now.
squash / 13764 posts
@rachiecakes: yup I'm positive, the seat and the back are pretty different sizes I think it's just very very very very snug...I really don't get how they get it to fit so well in the official PBK video! Does yours fit well?
@looch: oh that's good to know...I figured it probably had to stretch out a bit, it's just annoying to look at right now.
wonderful pear / 26210 posts
@hilsy85: my honest opinion on the chair, having owned it for a year now, is that they're cute, but not functional. I could have found a better chair for less money. I have ordered other stuff from PB and PBK but this chair is the worst.
squash / 13764 posts
@looch: yeah I kind of wish I had done more research before pulling the trigger...oh well, the important thing is that LO likes it right??
coconut / 8279 posts
@hilsy85: Hahaha, I totally couldn't tell!
When I finally figured it out, it was pretty tight at first, but since it's cotton and does stretch out, after a year of use, it looks perfect.

we have the my first anywhere chair that we were gifted. and will likely not be purchasing the orig size one.
we have the same issue as @hilsy85: where it's too snug and the piping doesn't line up with the chair folds, etc.
it's good for A right now tho, to have his own "seat" in the living room.
honeydew / 7488 posts
@rachiecakes: I had the same issue!
Our anywhere chair (small size) is 4 yr old. It has seen better days. I thought about getting a new slipcover for DS, but I dunno. The stuffing is not as plump, especially after my DH started using it as a pillow while watching football. :-/. I think PB does a great job of marketing the chair and coming up with new patterns and colors, and that's how they get us

We have a beanbag from target and LO loves it she gets on and off by herself and sits and reads her books!
pear / 1699 posts
@Alivoo01: of course, but they're just foam and bean bag material - probably from Target - both with Cars on them. They're not as pretty, that's for sure, but they do the trick
GOLD / papaya / 10166 posts
I wanted a personalized chair for her, and the anywhere chair was the cheapest personalized chair I could find. (Although I didn't like that I had to pay for shipping instead of them just holding it at the store...). Added bonus, it holds up great to DD's roughhousing.
wonderful olive / 19353 posts
@Mrsjets: I think I know which ones you're talking about! They look like a mini couch right? and fold out to be a lil daybed??
pear / 1723 posts
We have the beanbag chairs from target. Since we needed two, the pbk price point just wasn't practical for us. The target ones are plenty cute, and I really like that they have a water/stain resistant fabric...it's come in handy many many times. They were $35 each I think?

@hilsy85: Wow, I'm glad I read this, as we were looking to get E one for chrsitmas. I think I might look into something else now or go with the playhouse I had my eye on instead!

We just wanted a toddler chair, and found one for way cheaper at Homegoods. Cute print and much sturdier than the Anywhere Chair to me at least. It came as a rocker, but that part was super simple to remove.
I'm also not a huge fan of PBK, the are too expensive for my taste, and every time I order from them, something always goes wrong. Don't get me wrong, their customer service is great, I just hate having to deal with fixing a simple order every single time.

I am debating on whether to get one or the leather recliner from Costco... LOL.
pear / 1992 posts
I've had my eye on getting one for Xmas this year for LO (she will be a little over a year then). Mostly I think they are simple looking and have tons of color options for the covers so we could get something that doesn't look awful in our living room. I'm looking at other options now since this thread and a couple others...
This one looks cool http://www.wayfair.com/Comfort-Research-Big-Joe-Zebra-Cuddle-Bean-Bag-Lounger-652182-FR1299.html
And I'm checking out the P'Kolino chair that was mentioned elsewhere. I don't love the colors available, but they're both about half the price of the PNK chair and seem like they may be better functionally.
grapefruit / 4671 posts
DD is obsessed with the chair and has been since the day she got it. So odd. This is from the day she got it, the fit was bit snug to begin with, but after a week or so the fabris stretched slightly and it is a perfect fit now.
bananas / 9227 posts
I wanted one but it would have been ridiculously expensive with shipping (even with their shipping promo) - I live abroad. I ended up settling for a leather chair with a mini ottoman and it was CHEAPER than the Anywhere chair w/o shipping! I love her little chair and it's super sturdy (won't flip). I'm pretty happy about how it turned out.
I got her chair here: http://www.littledevilsdirect.co.uk/

Simple patterns/colors and personalization! I can see the appeal if you're trying to match the rest of your decor!
