What would you consider diarrhea?

In my opinion, diarrhea is when it's pretty much all liquid poop. But a very soft mushy poop isn't diarrhea.

DD2 has a stomach bug and has to be "diarrhea" free for 24 hours before returning to daycare. Just curious what everyone's idea of diarrhea is. I'm pretty sure daycare has the same definition as me.
