I know 6 boys in the last 2 years that were named Jackson/Jaxson. 3 of the moms graduated high school with me and other 3 are random people I've met through life since high school.
Have you noticed a huge jump in one name in your area or just with the people you associate? Would this prevent you from choosing that name even if you liked it?

Lots of Jack, Max and variations of Lily (Lillian, Liliana, etc.) and Ella/Eleanor, too.

So it looks like Jackson/Jaxson is just popular in general. I wonder if it will shoot up on the name list.
I also know a boy about 4 named Jack.
I do know a couple Lilly type names but I even think that's only 3 little girls.

@Aandmklover: Two girls I went to HS with have Jackson/Jaxxons and one of the Landons I know has a brother Jackson.

Lots of Jacksons and other "cowboy" type names: Wyatt, Colton, Cole, etc. Also Liam and Ella are big here.

Jack/ Jackson here too, both people from high school or on Facebook and in the playground. A few Oliver's too.
For girls I know a lot of Ellie or Ella's. Some full name some nicknames for Eleanor or similar. I like the name a lot but we have too many close friends wth variations that I wouldn't use it.

There seems to be a fair amount of variety among my friends and colleagues, but at a preschool meeting six months ago where parents introduced their children, I noticed that a large percentage of the girls started with "Ell" sounds - Ella, Ellie, Eleanor, Ellory, etc

I've been hearing Asher a lot lately... makes me a tad bummed because I almost named me son that - it was between Asher and his current name! It wasn't as popular four years ago.

I've heard Jackson a number of times.
And normally I would say that I would not choose a super popular name but it turns out the only name that DH and I both genuinely like is a top name - it has been mentioned in this thread a few times already and I was cringing at that! But unless we magically come up with another name that we both like in the next 3 weeks, it looks like we are helping to maintain this name's popularity!

@californiadreams: I was the same- I really didn't want super popular names since Dh and I both have really popular names for our generation.... g's name is number 9 in our state. But we love it so we went with it.

I've heard a lot of Liam, Olivia and Mia. Surprisingly I've met a couple kids who share my son's name, which made me sad since his name isn't very common overall.

My sons name has been mentioned a bunch of times and it bums me out a bit. We had his name picked out for yearsssss. It's DHs uncle's name. We call him H@nk, so I don't think that's quite as popular! All of the family names I've loved forever are now becoming more popular: Alice, Eliza, hazel...booooooo!
