@krsmall: @mediagirl: I bought 5 jersey dresses from Target (15 bucks a pop) and have worn them every day of maternity leave (along with 2 I owned previously). I still don't fit in any non-maternity bottoms.

OK - at 10 weeks post partum I officially have 10 lbs to lose. I'm getting there, but nowhere near where I want to be yet. I'm really now trying to do the shred consistently and run on the weekend. Hoping to lose the remaining 10 by the end of September so that I can fit into my work clothes when I go back to work!

@winniebee: that's awesome!
I have been running 2 miles a day and elliptical for 40 mins. I haven't weighed myself yet BUT I did fit into some non maternity jeans. They are my fat jeans but it feels good to wear
Something with an actual waist.

@winniebee: Great job!!
After 3 weeks of bootcamp, I'm down 2" on my waist and 1.5" on my hips (which is really surprising since I had a whole bunch of junk food last weekend - he he). I'm 11 lbs and one size away from my pre-pregnancy body. Yay!! I have 3 months to get in shape for my birthday vacation!
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@krsmall: hurray for non-maternity pants! i haven't tried any in awhile...
@BabyBoecksMom: That is awesome news! My sister is almost 6w post partum and we are going to do a bootcamp/stroller fit when she is cleared!
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
OK as of yesterday I have 8 lbs to go. I think not being able to eat dairy is helping to get rid of some of the weight. Haven't had time to workout the past few days but will walk AND shred today.
GOLD / squash / 13576 posts
@winniebee: That's great!!
How is everyone else doing?
I've got about 10 pds left to lose. I've been doing 40 mins eliptical and then running 2 - 3 miles. I'm trying zumba tomorrow. I used to do zumba all the time pre pregnancy and I'm excited to go back! Hope everyone has a great weekend!

oo i wanna join, im almost 4 weeks pp and have about 10-14 pounds to lose. i cant exercise for 6 weeks (c section) but im starting to go on walks with my lo pushing the stroller.
cherry / 216 posts
I'm joining too! I'm 10 weeks pp and have ten pounds to loose. After reading about the 30 day shred here, I started doing it a couple days ago. I like that it's only twenty minutes, but man, I'm so sore!
hostess / wonderful persimmon / 25556 posts
OK, I haven't started anything high impact yet because I haven't broken down to buy a new sports bra. I have been walking, though. 2-3 miles a day. I'm 8 weeks post.
@winniebee nice job!! Maybe I should cut out dairy...
cantaloupe / 6146 posts
Good job! Winniebee, krsmall, babyboeksmom, you're doing great!
I still have the same 15ish pounds to go--nothing budged since 4-5 weeks.
Since 9w, we've been at the gym 5x/week, but I am so tired and hungry and not losing.
Will be 11w on Monday.
Any tips? Anyone else super hungry?
GOLD / squash / 13576 posts
@pastemoo: I'm always starving! I think I'm more hungry now than when I was pregnant. Whenever I start to get hungry I'll exercise or do chores. I think I eat because I'm bored.
@mediagirl: I use 2 sports bras. I got some at target, they are around $20.
cantaloupe / 6146 posts
@krsmall: Oh. I was never much hungrier than normal when pregnant, but now I am super hungry--sometimes I wake up hungry before I hear the baby crying for food!
I am trying really hard to stay hydrated, too.

@winniebee: That's amazing girl! By september, is doable! But, clothes won't fit like they used to until 9-12 months PP.
I'm looking forward to fall so that I can sign up to Zumba, or some other dance like cardio workout. I've been sheding weight still, and I'm a little less than 20 lbs from my ideal goal weight. Since giving birth, I've lost 30 lbs! (and only gained 12 pregnant)
grapefruit / 4817 posts
Well, I haven't lost but a couple of lbs since I started 3 weeks ago, but I have been Shredding every day until last Wednesday and my shape has changed considerably. Unfortunately, the Shred has just about killed my knees, which I've been having issues with since my 36th week or so when I gained so much water weight. I had to take a break because my knees are really bothering me and my husband's worried about my ACL on one.
I think I'm going to take my diet into overdrive while I can't work out as hard. Monday will start a 5 day all protein diet for me. Bleh. But man does it get my dieting into super drive!
cantaloupe / 6146 posts
@bree72: Can you bike or swim to strengthen the muscles that support your knees? And then go back to the shred? And congrats on the few lbs--it's supposed to go slowly now.

Subscribing to this thread... I'm only 3 weeks pp, so I can't join in on the "fun" yet, but seeing everyone's progress gives me motivation to get my ass into gear after I see my OB in 3 weeks!
I am 2 lbs away from my pre-pregnancy weight (currently at 196), but I was waaaaaaay overweight when I got pregnant-- the heaviest I've been (being a 5'3" 194 lb Asian chick makes me a freak of nature, I swear). I hope to lose at least 20 lbs once I start working out/ watching what I eat.

Count me in! I'm four weeks pp, so I'm going to wait two more weeks before working out, but when I hit the 6 week mark, it's on!
kiwi / 515 posts
I've been dragging my feet, but 14 weeks pp with 10 lbs to go, I need to start to be more consistent! I've been starting the shred since week 6, but never seem to stick to it, this will be my accountability! So sick of not fitting in my clothes.
@ winniebee how is the shred for you?
Ladies it's great to read about everyone's successes!

How's everyone doing???
I'm 13 weeks post partum and am sooo excited to report to factoids: 6 lbs away from pre-pregnancy weight AND I fit into a pair of normal sized work pants (that are on the bigger side). They zip and everything. Tight in the bum and thighs but whatever! My goal was to have 5 lbs to lose by labor day and I just might do it! I think it's a combination of (a) working out more (ran every day on vacation last week) (b) shred (at least 3 days a week) (c) breastfeeding and (d) dairy free diet (b/c of my son's tummy troubles).
blogger / wonderful cherry / 21616 posts
I have no idea how I missed this thread!! woohooo for motivation
I am almost 6 months post-partum, I have 7 lbs (out of 35) to lose to get back to pre-pregnancy weight. But I would ideally like to lose another 25 lbs after that!
I haven't been going to the gym as often as I was or used to. I NEED to get back into that.
But I eat really healthy!!
GOLD / squash / 13576 posts
@winniebee: that's great!
I'm fitting into my "fat clothes" but it feels good to not be in maternity. My parents got me a BOB and we are getting it labor day weekend, that should help me be able to run modern consistently. I still have about 10 pounds to lose.
persimmon / 1361 posts
I'll join in! I'm 2 weeks 2 days pp and had a c section. I gained 42 lb with my pregnancy and am still up 20 lb from my pre-preg weight. I am eager to be able to exercise again but wear out super easy. I got the go ahead from my doctor that I can walk and lightly jog if I feel up to it.. I've been doing some walking with baby strapped on for about a week now. I am hoping to get most of the weight off by October 1 when I go back to work but we'll see!
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@krsmall: nice! My MIL got me the babyjogger FIT for my bday but I haven't tried it yet - are you going to wait til your son is 6 months or just go for it?
@cocobee: I want to lose 5 lbs on top of the 6 I have to go! Those will be hard to get rid of I know.
hostess / wonderful persimmon / 25556 posts
Ugh. I'll admit to being lazy. I need to start the shred. Walking is not enough. I bought a pair of 12 jeans but they are so tight. I have less than 1 month till I go back to work and have no idea what I'll wear when I go back! Maybe if I work hard, I can fit well into those size 12 jeans come Sept 12th? Eh. We'll see.
GOLD / squash / 13576 posts
@winniebee: My parents got me the carseat attachment so I'm going to see how that goes.
@mediagirl: I started working from home last week. Trying to get into a routine is the hardest thing. I've found out that I'm getting my workout around 6 p.m. right after LO has eaten and he'll go down for a little nap.
clementine / 959 posts
15 weeks pp and still need to lose 6 or 7 lbs and my weight hasn't budged in over a month! I've been taking LO for 45-60 minute walks in the neighborhood in the evenings but I need to do it more often. I tried shred but during the cardio my boobs bounce way too much! I need a better sports bra.
My pre-preg jeans can be buttoned, but the muffin top is no bueno. Hoping to fit nicely into them by the time it gets cold enough for pants!

Update!!
I am so proud of myself this morning. DS was up a little before 8am, so I fed him and got my butt out of bed and dragged it to the gym. I did a 45-minute core conditioning class (very similar to pilates) and after I told myself I needed a bit of cardio. I opted for the treadmill - now I hate running/jogging with all my being, but I know it's good for me. But I've never been a runner, well I did 4-4.5 mph for half a mile and that is a huge accomplishment for me! I was so proud. I just kept saying motivating things to myself and man - that talk really does work!!
Last night I made healthy muffins to have for breakfast, so I polished my workout with a healthy pumpkin spice muffin and a clementine good morning so far!
GOLD / squash / 13576 posts
@Coco Bee: Do you take you LO to the gym? Our gym has daycare but I don't feel comfortable taking him there yet.
blogger / wonderful cherry / 21616 posts
@krsmall: I do! I started at 6 weeks but the staff there are really nice. the only qualm I have is if I go during a busy time he doesn't get much attention. But he's generally only there an hour.
Why don't you ask if you can hang out there for a bit, kinda see how things go? I did that
pineapple / 12234 posts
@Coco Bee: Your healthy eating has made me so much more conscious of what I'm eating lately, haha--it's like it has worn off on me through HB?!
I've started to cut back on refined sugar but I'm not totally GF yet. I've been walking 3-4 miles a day with the LO's but I haven't jogged/ran yet. I have to wake up at 5am before DH goes to work so I can run, which is fine but I'd rather build up a fast paced walk first. I just started my pilates dvd at night too.
I have 10 pounds to go still until I'm at my old, normal weight. But really, I'd love to lose 30 total so it's going to take some more work than just walking + cutting out sugar.
blogger / wonderful cherry / 21616 posts
@HeatherlovesKenny: hahaha aww well i'm glad!!! Honestly I think exercise is futile if diet is poor . You may still see "results" but internally you won't be healthy and that's so important :): glad I can motivate you.
It is easy to get motivated but sticking with it sure is the hard part!! Even I have days I'm not so strong.
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@krsmall: @cocobee: My gym will watch babies 3 months and up so I'm considering going this week....I figure what's the worst that can happen in 45 minutes if I'm 20 feet away?
blogger / wonderful cherry / 21616 posts
@winniebee: ours has a paging system and they is it for anything lol. Like it's against thei policy to change diapers and of he's wet they don't wait to page us lol kinda funny I think.
Soooo good news!!! Weighed myself this morning and I am only THREE lbs from pre-preg weight!!! Ahhhhh sooo excited!!!!
The only problem is my body is so different that my jeans still don't for without a severe muffin top. I think I'll need to lose an additional 5-10 lbs for them to fit properly
pineapple / 12234 posts
@Coco Bee: Woohoo!! Good for you! Would you mind sharing the best GF recipes you've made yet?
When I worked out at the YMCA, they didn't have a paging system (this was 3 years ago when DS was 6 months old) and when I came to pick him up 45 minutes later he had a huge goose egg on his head I didn't take him there again. I did go to another gym and took him to that daycare when he was 10 months old and he loved it. I didn't want to share that to scare anyone but ugh, DS had never been hurt before that!
blogger / wonderful cherry / 21616 posts
@HeatherlovesKenny: oh that is sooo sad and I would have been soooo mad and definitely complained to management. Ugh I can totally understand why you're hesitant.
Sure!! I would love to. I'm at work so when I get home or tomorrow I can post them to your wall. If you wanna get the Almond Flour Cookbook by Elana of Elanaspantry.com from the library it has lots of great recipes.
Also I read my post above and it is ridden with spelling errors. Oops sorry, I'm on my iPod!!

So this week I decided to really get on the weight loss thing! I went grocery shopping and bought lots of healthy stuff and started going for a 45-60 minute walk around the neighborhood every day. My goal is to do it every weekday and if I manage that for a week then I'm buying myself a new pair of sneakers!
Still have about 5 lbs to go and am almost 4 months pp.
blogger / wonderful cherry / 21616 posts
@duckduckkristen: Woo! How are you doing with it??
I am doing alright - I have had no motivation to eat healthy lately. But I did start a sugar free challenge and it's going okay. I made my healthy brownies tonight to satiate my cravings!!
As for weight I am down to only .8 lbs left to my pre-pg weight!! I am sooooo freakin excited!! Woohoo... took 6 months to get here
I still want to lose an additional 25 ish lbs and tone up some more.
Even though I'm nearly back to pre-pg weight, I have a lot of extra flab. I've been doing pilates to help with the stomach area but it's a looong slow process. I still don't fit into some of my form-fittig jeans, they give my a muffin top. I need to focus on getting rid of the extra bloat that is still leftover in my stomach.
I've been using a firming cream to help with my stretch marks and so far no good. It's been a couple of weeks and they don't appear to have lessened.
I've heard that coconut oil helps with stretch marks too so I think I'll be trying that next.
What is your ladies workout routine? Have you noticed anything in particular that works really well?
pomegranate / 3890 posts
@coco bee: you'll have to tell me if you find something that works for you strechmarks, i have TONS on my stomach that im sooooo self cousious and embarrased of them.
ive been walking but def need to start eating better and remembering to eat more.
blogger / wonderful cherry / 21616 posts
@stargal: yeah I will. I am so self conscious about them too. It's awful. They are SO bad... I hate them.
