So my hair is falling out like crazy so I simply tie it up all the time. I wonder if I should just get it cut short so that the hair loss seems to be a little less intense.
Did you go for a PP chop?

Yes! I needed a haircut any way so the PP hair loss just pushed me to chop it!

@regberadaisy: Ya that's what I'm thinking. I haven't cut my hair in months and clearly I have split ends. And, there's Sienna's baptism coming up... I might just go for it!

I'm planning on a PP chop after family pictures in November! My sister (my hair dresser) has been begging me to cut it, I haven't since a year before our wedding (besides trims of course.) It is the longest it has been since high school! I'm ready for a change.

@jessiejo17: I'm so ready for change too. But I kinda like that it's long enough to tie now. But I think a bob is in the near future.

I went super short...but since I have a receding hairline right now, no haircut can save my looks. It's horrid, like Naomi Campbell style horrid.

I'm doing a pre-partum chop! A good friend of mine lost her mom to breast cancer years ago and this October (breast cancer awareness month) she is trying to get as many people as she can to donate their hair to locks of love with her. I've done it a bunch in the past so I decided to sign up. Baby is due in November and I think it will be nice to have short hair when he/she gets here.

@mrs.sunglasses: aren't you planning a vintage themed baptism? If so, get a vintage style shorter do.
Fortunately my PP hairloss wasn't significant but I did get it trimmed shorter once LO started pulling it while nursing. This time around I'm getting 2" chopped before LO even arrives (well as long as I don't go into labor before my appt next Wed).

Nope - my hair is finally getting to where I can put it in a ponytail. I'm just sucking it up with the hair loss. Plus, with curly hair going too short just ends up looking ridiculous on me.

I just started losing a ton of hair I hate feeling hair fall on me all day or loose hairs dangling from my shirt and touching my arm whenever I move. I'm just putting it up for a little while.

@purrpletulips: Yes I am! I just think shorter with volume is the way to go. I would love a vintage style do, but I find the vintage is all in the finger waves and clearly Idon't know how to do that. Any pics in mind? I've been searching and no luck.
@Goldilocks1107: I agree curly and short isn't a good combo. Plus even if you are losing hair at least curls hides "bald spots"

@mrs.sunglasses: sorry no pics in mind and not sure how vintage you wanted to go; the image that comes to my mind is a 1920s style do, sleek and short

I cut my hair short at the end of my pregnancy and am actually growing it a bit. I did get my bangs cut differently and started dying my hair. I have a grey streak in my bangs and half of it feel out pp! So traumatizing!

@Mrs. Superhero: I just wrote a post about hair. white hair. egh!

Ooops I voted. My bad:) what I meant by my vote is: I am saving my hair for PP so I can chop it then. It needs it now I guess but I'll wait so 1. I can have less hair loss 2. I can feel "brand new"

Yup, I like my hair on the shorter side anyway. I couldn't put it up because I was actually losing my hair around my temples. Puttig it up just displayed my balding spots more. I'm a big fan of the textured bob. Super easy to maintain.

I did. I had about 12 inches cut off. I didn't think it made much of a difference with the PP hair loss.

I recently got it trimmed (first time in 13 months, hallelujiah), but I still totally look like a crazy person. since everything is all different lengths (and textures now, too. pregnancy messed with my hair), even if I pull it back I have these crazy little baby hairs that pop up all over my head
eta: but it's still long: below the bottoms of my shoulderblades

Not yet but I really should just get it chopped b/c it's scary seeing how much is falling out. I have my hair tied up pretty much all the time. Even when I'm sleeping b/c I don't want to see hair on my pillow in the morning.

I powered through the hair loss (mine just fell out in the front, the little baby hairs, so it looks like my forehead is even BIGGER). Now about 6 weeks later, I already have the hair coming back in and it's not too bad. If you want to keep your long hair and can make it through a few awkward weeks, it doesn't take long to get enough hair back that you don't look weird. In the meantime, just creatively cover it with side swept bangs and wear it down!

@artbee: I have no clue what that is. I'm googling it now.

@erwoo: That's what I do, but then there's so much on my hair elastic or when I try to tie up my hair again. If I wasn't so chicken, I'd go with a pixie cut. I've done it in 2000 but now, I'm not so sure.

Yup. About 7-8 inches.
But my hair still falls out a lot.

Oh.. and I also get those little baby hairs along my hairline... hate it!!

@Mrs. Sunglasses: seriously... at nearly 23 years old I should NOT be having hair loss problems. Ugh.
blogger / wonderful cherry / 21616 posts
@Mrs. Sunglasses: I will be 23 in two weeks haha. And why are you depressed?? Are you discriminatin'?!

I was thinking about doing a big chop, but now I think I'll do a medium chop (from boob-length to shoulder-length) and maybe add bangs. (I go back and forth between having bangs and not having bangs every few years for my entire life and it's been 2 years of no bangs).

@Mrs. Sunglasses: I try to use hair ties that don't pull on my hair and that helps. At least when I don't feel it pull I feel like it's not as bad. LOL! But the hair ties that pull are the ones that keep my hair up. Oh well. I hope it stops soon.

@Mrs. Sunglasses: I lost a lot of hair post surgery, and after research I heard it's normal from anesthesia and biotin helps. It helped me..... maybe it will help you too!
