i was told that if you have 4 or more contractions within an hour, you may be in pre-term labor. what if it's 4 or more braxton hicks - should i call the doctor?

My doc told me contractions 5-6 mins apart in an hour...and to wait the full hour too. I'm not sure what braxton hicks feels like though. I would suggest when in doubt, just call to be safe.
When are you due?

Have you tried drinking water and laying down? Supposedly, that will stop Braxton Hicks (and always worked for me). It never hurts to call your doctor.

@enjollah: @owlmom: i want to say i had like 4-6 each hour for 2 hours. i drank some water and i tried changing positions. i did have an appointment with the hospital today for a sonogram and i walked all the way from the (free) parking lot to the office (which takes about 10-15 minutes).... i tried to walk slowly. i'm wondering if that's what brought it on. i'm due end of march.
i didn't want to call last night, but i guess i'll call today! thanks, ladies.
