I thought it was a bit of an over generalization. We still do brunch with LO. I also don't have a Henri Bendel diaper bag or a big expensive purse by choice.
ETA: Before/as we got pregnant, I knew our life was going to change in a lot of ways, some a lot more than I expected and others not. I have moments where I miss my life pre-kids, but generally I don't. There's so much more to parenting that's way more fun than some of the things listed as pre-kids on this list.

@cascademom: Agreed! sometimes I miss those cool spring days with the windows open and a long nap on the couch. Now I can't imagine life without my DD. My Ride is a mini van and I have a nice purse, it's just been converted into a diaper bag. I did the things I wanted to in my 20's because I knew I wanted to wait until 30's to have kids. I didn't want to say I didn't get to enjoy those things we do when we're 20 something. (a lot of bar hopping, traveling and school). I had fun then and I'm having fun now. It's just a different kinda fun.

@MamaPhoenix: "Different fun" is a good description of it. I had a lot of fun in my 20's and in the couple of years after we got married. We did a lot of fun things in that time. Now, the fun is different with LO like going to the park, blowing bubbles, etc.

@MamaPhoenix - yes, definitely a different kind of fun! And when I get too overwhelmed chasing the kid and need some quiet time, I remind myself how much I wanted to hear baby laughter in the house! Of course, he's usually laughing because he's taken off his diaper or run off with some no-no that he's not allowed!
