@winniebee: Yes, team green to try and curb some of the gender comments (you feel me)
pear / 1717 posts
@winniebee: yes! At the end of November/early December. I also should be finding out the gender Monday!
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@lilyann: ah totally hear you! Do you have a feeling either way? Although I know we could find out early again this time, I think I want to wait for our anatomy scan, if we get that far.

So happy for you all My miscarriage was over 4 years ago and since then, I've had 2 successful pregnancies, but the anxiety never truly goes away (currently 13 weeks with #3)

@winniebee: I can truly say I have no clue this time around! I knew with DS2 but this one has me torn! If I had to bet, I would say girl just because I have had quite a few ultrasounds and haven't seen much down there, lol.
I'm so excited for you! First scan isn't too far away I had my first scan a little past 9 weeks this time and almost had a panic attack waiting.
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@lilyann: exciting either way. 3 boys you'll be queen of the house! mine is early at 7 weeks - but my guess is I will have another at 10 weeks too.

How's everyone doing? Any big milestones coming up? I have my first ultrasound Monday. I don't even want to go. Ive been feeling mostly good so it's hard to believe the ultrasound will go well.
persimmon / 1026 posts
I remember my first ultrasound at 6 weeks and I felt like I was in a dream. It was tough being examined in the same room where I found out the horrible news prior, but I didn't want to switch doctors. I do a lot of "different pregnancy, different outcome" in my head.
I had a preterm labor scare with the twins and was in the hospital earlier this week. Ended up dilating to a 1 but contractions slowed and they gave me steroid shots for the twins' lungs should I go back into active labor again. I'm 31 weeks today so just hoping they stay put for at least a few more weeks.
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@littlecasita1122: that is so scary! I had PTL with my first at 30 weeks - like you dilated to 1 and had the steroid shots. I went on bed rest and made it to 38 weeks. Hang in there!

@littlecasita1122: oh wow that is scary. Hope everything calms down for you
@winniebee: Good luck today!

I had a successful ultrasound last Friday (the same one where we saw the problem the last time) and now I'm waiting for NIPT results and my next ultrasound with MFM in a couple of weeks. Cue the panic again.
@littlecasita1122: I hope you are feeling well and that the twins stay put for a few more weeks!
@winniebee: I can't wait to hear your happy news.

Hi ladies, wasn't sure if this thread is active since I've not been online here for ages! I had a MMC last year in August followed by d&c. Fast forward a year we resumed TTC and I got my BFP a few weeks ago, now six weeks ish pregnant & SO nervous. We don't do blood tests here but I have a referral for a dating scan, which has filled me with more anxiety since it was at our 8w scan last year we discovered our bean had stopped growing at 6/6.5 weeks. I've felt nausea on & off, major tiredness & sore boobs but nothing much else. I was sick as a dog for my first successful pregnancy so can't help but compare and worry.
Any helpful tips or commiseration welcome, how I'm meant to survive the first tri until the two different scans is beyond me!

We got good results from our panorama test and are at the end of the first trimester, so we let some people know at Thanksgiving.
I also bought something for the baby for the first time yesterday. It felt weird. I keep seeing awesome sales on baby stuff and hesitating to buy, afraid something will happen to make me regret it. Anyone else feel this way?

@Nutella: Sending you a gentle congrats! I'm 14+2 after losing our baby boy at 13 weeks in June. I can definitely offer commiseration, it's really scary! I have been taking it one appointment/ultrasound/test at a time. I won't let myself think about anything farther than my next appointment. I'm also trying to remind myself that this a completely different pregnancy and the outcome will (hopefully) be different. Try not to worry about not feeling sick/having symptoms. This is my 3rd pregnancy (1 successful and 1 loss) and I never feel sick or have symptoms except for maybe sore boobs. I'm so sorry for your loss and I feel hopeful this is your take home baby!

@Iced Tea: Congrats on your results! I feel the exact same way... I won't look at anything baby related until 2017. My panorama came back low risk, but I have 2 more ultrasounds with MFM in the next month, including the anatomy scan, so I need to (hopefully) see a healthy baby first. That being said... buying baby gear now or later won't change a thing, so shop away

@ocean81: thank you so much for your lovely words! Congratulations to you too on your pregnancy, I'm sure passing the 13 w milestone would have been so tumultuous I think your point about it being a different pregnancy is a very good point. I feel in such a better place than I was a year ago so I can't help but feel hopeful and optimistic! but every so often when I'm feeling rather normal, I'll just start to feel my worries creep in. I think I'll book in the dating scan and that way we know what it is either way. My husband said the same thing when it came to taking the HPT, he was like it is what it is, but you'd rather know so we we can deal with it! So trying to build up the courage to fave what is what! Hopefully will be able to go in on Saturday so I don't have to take leave from work to do it. Will you be having any more scans before your 20w one? Thanks again xxx
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@Nutella: Gentle congratulations. I don't have any advice for you, just hope. I've been literally taking it day by day (9 weeks) and milestone by milestone.
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@Iced Tea: that's great news!! I am with you on not getting excited or jinxing anything. For me, I won't think about buying anything until after our anatomy scan. But know that buying something or getting excited about the baby won't change the outcome of your pregnancy. Easier said than done.
persimmon / 1045 posts
@winniebee: thank you, and also the same to you! I was so happy to see your update, you've been through the ringer but I definitely think this is a great sign for you! Good luck taking it day by day, I'll be doing the same

Had a scan today and measuring a week behind but did get to see the tiny heartbeat. So nervous still - has anyone heard of this before?

@Nutella: For some reason I'm thinking that @delight: measured behind at first and I know she just delivered a healthy baby. @delight: I'm sorry if I'm confusing you with someone else!
Sending you all the good vibes for a healthy pregnancy.

@mrsjd: You might be thinking of me. @Nutella: I measured 5 days behind and had a sub chorionic hematoma so my pregnancy was off to a rocky start. I was quite certain of my ovulation date (if their date was right, I got a 5 days after ovulation - which isn't possible) so I think my little one was just a slow starter. I went on to have an uncomplicated pregnancy and my daughter was born at 40 weeks. Try not to worry!
pear / 1767 posts
@Nutella: Also, their ultrasounds have a margin of error (+ or - 3 days I was told) so that could be part of it.
pomelo / 5326 posts
@Nutella: I'm happy to see you here and wish you all the best. I measured behind too. See below!
@mrsjd: I definitely had a rocky start to my pregnancy so you very well could have been thinking about me.
At my 7 week appointment there was only a gestational sac so I thought for sure it was over. The sac measured just over 6 weeks. I went back at 9 weeks and the baby measured exactly on. I'm not sure what happened but I think maybe because my uterus is tilted I measured behind. I did just deliver a healthy baby a few weeks ago.
@Shantuck: you and I both went through all that at the same time. Hope all is well with your baby.
persimmon / 1045 posts
@Shantuck: @delight: @mrsjd: thanks ladies for chiming in. It's weird to be in this headspace - the tech was being cautious with the follow up but was repeatedly saying it's good news, congratulations- so I think I'm just focusing on the 'what ifs'. Instead of the amazingness of seeing the little my mind is totally everywhere right now.
@delight: congrats x10000 on the safe arrival of your little rainbow!!! So stoked for you xx@Shantuck: I remember your story! Congrats to you too!
I never thought early scans would cause this much upheaval! I didn't chart this time but I did keep track of the CM, and so I know I ovulated no earlier than CD16 so I guess it could have been a late O & an early bfp?! Blagh I don't know. Next week can't come soon enough!
Any other positive stories will be appreciated anyway! Sorry for not making sense!

@Nutella: With my daughter, I started bleeding at 7 weeks. Went in for an ultrasound and her heart rate was very low... only in the 80s. My OB prepared me for a loss. The following week I went in for a follow up and she had caught up. She's 20 months now The week inbetween felt SO long. Can you plan some fun distractions? Sending you all of the positive thoughts!

Hi ladies, I may not be pregnant for long but going to join anyways for support
How Far Along Currently: 5 weeks 2 days
EDD: July 31, 2017
Loss History: Chemical pregnancy in September and ectopic in October
Next Milestone: unsure
Current Fears: I am currently struggling with low rising hCG. Today at 5+2 my beta was only 905, up from 500 on Monday with a doubling time of 80ish hour. My beta prior had a 53 hr doubling time. I had an ultrasound today to rule out ectopic and they were able to see a tiny tiny sac in my uterus. I'm hoping my numbers start increasing normally but everything I've read said this is heading towards a MC.

@Nutella: Have you had a follow up appt yet? Thinking of you!

I'm 10+2 and getting my NIPT draw in a few days. I've been growing increasingly anxious and worried the past week. My therapist gave me some relaxation tools that I'll be using, but the next few weeks are going to be HARD.
How's everyone else doing?
persimmon / 1045 posts
@winniebee: thanks lovely, my follow up scan is tomorrow morning and I've been trying to stay zen all week! Symptoms are super mild but there, and I just need to keep the faith! I am starting to think maybe I did O slightly later than I thought which could contribute to the smaller size.
I am glad you have some tools to help you, but know that you're not alone & you have lots of supporters! It's a brand new pregnancy and looking good! Xxx
@mrskansas: how are you going?

@Nutella: so nervewracking! Let us know how it goes!

Has anyone found themselves alienated from friends who don't understand your previous loss/es? I'm currently facing this with a close friend who doesn't even seem to care how my dating scan went - & still hasn't even asked. So I'm not sure if I'm just being hormonal and extra sensitive but I wish I hadn't even told her I was pregnant as right now I can't even lean on her for support

@Nutella: chiming in that with this pregnancy, I was measuring behind too--my due date kept shifting back and forth between 2/6/17 (by lmp) and 2/12/17 (by the scans). I'm 31 weeks now, and everything still *seems* fine (knock on lots and lots of wood...). I've asked my ob multiple times about the date shifting around and she keeps saying not to worry, that everything looks normal and that they don't worry about a week difference, and that due dates are just estimates anyway.
persimmon / 1045 posts
@nana87: thank you so much for chiming in! I can't help but feel positive but then occasionally will start worrying! Forgive my stalking but did you also haveway less symptoms for pregnancy #2? I distinctly remember being so ill first time around but this time it's so mild -I'm super tired and have aversions to smells etc, but comparatively less. I had always heard the second pregnancy gets worse, especially chasing a toddler, but maybe that's just another myth!!
Can't wait to see our little bean again tomorrow. Congrats on your pregnancy and good luck for the final countdown! Xx
cantaloupe / 6171 posts
@Nutella: way fewer symptoms this time around! With dd1, I felt like I had flu immediately and had terrible morning sickness until about 18 weeks. The first 20 weeks I lost like 10 lbs. this time (also w a girl) my nausea was much milder, and my energy levels were way closer to normal-- I've basically been functioning like pre pregnancy except more tired in the evenings (when other fun symptoms like gas pains also flare up, haha). I didn't lose any weight, though also didn't really start gaining much until the end of second tri (I'm currently up about 12 lbs, 8!of which were in the last 2 months) I think my body just is like "oh we did this before, cool" good luck tomorrow!!!!
persimmon / 1045 posts
@nana87: @winniebee: so I'm relieved on so many levels! Saw and heard baby'S sweet heartbeat and thanks to some epic growth we are back on track - the ultrasound tech moved my dates back to the original! But he even added that dates don't really matter and that they change according to baby - so it's obviously a crapshoot in general! So grateful for the ladies here, your support and stories helped me push through this week
