Has anyone had a prenatal massage? Did you enjoy it or was it not as enjoyable because you're so huge/uncomfortable?

I had one, but I was 18 weeks and could still lay on my belly, so I REALLLLLY enjoyed it. A friend of mine had one the week or two before her due date and loved it. She said it made her feel pampered at a time when she felt huge and gross and uncomfortable. Go for it =o)

A friend of mine loved going. She said they had a donut pillow that she could lie on and she said it was so nice to get a chance to lie on her stomach.

I have had 3 so far! One at 20 weeks, one at 24 weeks and one at 27 weeks. The best one was at 24 weeks. I had to lay on my side/back (but propped) for all 3. The first one, the masseuse was not firm enough, so the second one I asked for more firmness on my back - I think it is what helped relieve the terrible low back pain I was having. I plan on scheduling another one for when I'm like 34 weeks (or if my back pain returns, then sooner) : )

LOVE! I've been having regular chiropractic adjustments and massages since early in pregnancy. At this point I'm going for a massage every other week (I'm 36 weeks) to help with the hip/low back pain. It does wonders. They use this magical pillow (http://www.earthlite.com/pregnancy-cushion-and-headrest.html) so that I can lay on my stomach and still be completely comfortable. I highly recommend, I'm having one tonight as a matter of fact!

I got them twice a month starting at my 2nd trimester. It was great! As long as you have a good massage therapist who's experienced with prenatal. They surrounded me with pillows so I was so comfy! And it felt awesome on my back.

They are fantastic. Its really nice to be pampered when you’re feeling blah from not really having control over your body anymore. A traditional massage is nice – so is getting a really nice spa pedicure where they give you a head/neck/shoulders/upper back and legs massage while your feet soak.

I had one at 38 weeks and it was great. They had me lay on my side and would massage one half of my body at a time. I'd strongly recommend a massage.

I had a few of them and they were great! They make sure you can get into a comfortable position - don't worry!

I've had three and they're all amazing. I need to get another one scheduled (28 weeks).

I've had three! One fairly early in my second trimester around 15 weeks and it was great (at Bliss Spa and I got to lie on my belly). The second one was towards the end of my secin trimester at some random spa that I had a gift card to and it was no good - the masseuse sucked and even though side lying isn't bad, the table was like a rock and hurt my hips to lie on it!!! I walked out in worst shape than when I walked in. My last one was my favorite one - I was 35 weeks and the spa (Oasis on 5th ave for you NYC gals) has a table with a hole in it so you can lie on your belly even in 3rd trimester. The masseuse applied just the right amount of pressure and I was on cloud nine. I definitely recommend going to a reputable place so you walk out feeling better rather than worst.

@ElisaT: thanks for the tip! I had one at Bliss at 23 weeks and even though I loved it, the masseuse was abit chatty for my taste so I have been looking to try something else.
To the OP, I highly recommend it. It was fabulous.

I highly recommend massages when you feel comfortable going. I started shortly after my 2nd trimester. Have had 3 so far and hope to squeeze 2 more before baby's arrival. =) It feels so good!

I had one early in my second trimester and it was so relaxing!! I enjoyed it a great deal but my wallet didn't-ha! Even though I wasn't showing much they still had me rest on my side.

I had one two weeks ago (at 30) and it was soooooooooo enjoyable. The table was warm, there was like a gel concave thing for my bump. I think the big plus too was being able to lay on my stomach! And the quiet, the quiet. That was in the midst of my husband's niece being here for two weeks with my MIL. She is quite a handful. So the quiet was so nice.
I want a repeat but the only reason why I went is because it was a shower TY gift for MIL and I had a gift card.
