19 weeks and just had a visit with the NP, so far I have seen the NP 3 times and only the OB once. Just curios do you usually have appts with the NP or with the OB? I'm actually quite enjoying my visits with my NP and wish she was my OB actually!

maybe it's because it's just a routine visit? my practice doesn't have nurses, so i've only seen the medical assistant and then the doctor (same visits).

My OB owns his own practice and is the only OB on staff, so I always see him when I go in for visits.

My first was with a NP and my second would have been with a OB but I wanted a day and time slot that all the OBs were booked. I think all subsequent will be with the OBs on staff.

My OB practice is also a midwife practice - I rotate between seeing the OB and the midwife, but see the midwife more frequently.

My very first visit to confirm pregnancy and get all the info was with the NP. All subsequent visits were with an OB.

I always see the OB, unless its an ultrasound appointment in which case I go to the hospital and see the perinatal department.

I get switched every other visit - NP then OB, NP then OB.. and so on.

My experience is the same as sandsandmore. I saw my OB most of the times, and I saw the other OB's in the practice as well to get familiar with them.
