Like $250-325 is normal in my area (high COL as well). BUT when I lived in NYC i would always book through Groupon or Lifebooker and get it like 50-75% off. And unlike color or a cut, i don’t think it really matters who you go to, I would just make sure the place is well ventilated.

I paid $220 for mine in January. My hair has grown out quite a bit, but it’s still going strong on the ends. I could stand to get it redone but I’m not sure if I want to quite yet. My stylist’s prices just went up in March to $260. She’s considered reasonable. Ive seen a lot of $300+ in other neighborhood salons. I’m in the DC suburbs (high COL).

My friend is really kinda stuck up about services and she’s the one who found it - and she could afford to get it done ANYWHERE (she pays $500 just for a cut). But she swore by this place.
You buy it online here then call and make an appointment. When you get there you show them the code from the online purchase. You just have to pay the tax in store (like $5) and tip in cash on the full value (so I do a $50 tip). Still wayyyyy less all in!

@SweetiePie: millionth time you have given me super helpful advice, thank you!! @lioneyes: awesome, I'm so glad to be in on this. I've never tried a keratin treatment but I've been dying to--always have been so turned off by the price.

my recollection is these are NOT safe during pregnancy, is that correct? if so I'll add it to my sushi/turkey and swiss/wine wine wine roster for post-birth. thxxx ladies!
