I'm used to have a PPO health insurance plan for many years and this year we changed to a HSA High Deductible plan through my husband's work. I was wondering if this insurance plan is beneficial to have during pregnancy and for pediatrician visits.

depends on how high your deductible is and if your husband's employer gives you any money in your HSA account. you will most likely hit your deductible in this year because L&D costs a fortune, and then you'll probably only have to pay 10% of costs out of pocket until you reach your co-insurance limit and then everything is free after that. but, before you hit your deductible, you are paying the rate that your insurance company has negotiated with your doctors, which can be a lot of money.

We have one and I'm so glad we got pregnant in the same year I delivered otherwise we'd have paid a lot more out of pocket if it'd been split over two time periods.

We hit our deductible and have 100% paid after. Our deductible was 3000.
