My sister for years has always said how dangerous it is when kids stand up in shopping carts in the grocery store. She has seen multiple instances of carts tipping over and children falling out when they are standing up in a cart. Well I witnessed it with my own two eyes yesterday and it was SCARY!

I was out shopping and a mom was paying at the register with two kids who were both standing up in the shopping cart. The boy was probably around 4 and the girl around 2. Out of nowhere I hear a huge CRASH and then two kids screaming. I look over and the cart is tipped on it's side and the kids are on the ground. The store workers rushed over to help and the Mom didn't even stop to help her kids! She just let them scream and cry while she finished paying. Sorry if that sounds judgemental, I don't have kids so I don't know what I would do in that situation, but I would imagine I would stop what I was doing and make sure my kids were ok! The poor little girl just stayed on the ground screaming and crying for a good 2 minutes.

Anyway, point of the post is don't let your sweet babies stand up in shopping carts! I know it's easier said than done, and I know my sister struggles keeping her 2 year old from standing in a cart but oh my word so scary!
