The Paradisus was lovely . . . but the food wasn't great.
ETA: I should add though that my trip was some time ago!

We honeymooned at Gran Bahia Principe, Esmerelda section of the resort, loved it and will go back if we ever did all-inclusive again (that was my first trip ever!). The "Ambar" section is adults only, we hung out there a bit, and had a dinner there, sooooo nice! We know a few people that went and they loved it too! Great big resort, but the two sections I have mentioned are much smaller, own beaches and pools, but nice to have access to the huge resort, too.

Fun!! I went to Dreams Punta Cana and it was terrible.
I've heard great things about the Hard Rock though.

Have you checked tripadvisor.com? That's my go-to website for vacation planning.
I haven't been to Punta Cana but I have been to Puerto Plata. The DR is gorgeous--you're going to have a blast!

we stayed at the iberostar grand bavaro for our honeymoon, which is adults only. got a steal of a deal through applevacations.com. our resort was awesome and the food great. service was good and room was awesome. it's more of a lounge kinda resort than a party one, and i could see having a blast with a bunch of other couples.
i really liked our resort, but i would probably go to a different location next time.

The Hard Rock!!!!
We honeymooned there!!! It was so fabulous. I don't have much negative to say. We want to go back every three years or so...love it!

Oh, it is not adults only. But there are 12 (?) pools, some of which are kids only, and some are adults only (including a nude pool!). We rarely saw kids while we were there.
