Sorry if this is the dumbest question ever...
We got some hand-me-downs from my SIL and I am planning on washing them today. I went to the store and bought Dreft, but I noticed they didn't have any Dreft dryer sheets. So do you not use dryer sheets at all when drying baby clothes?

I use Bounce Free sheets. I don't know if you're supposed to, but I do.

I saw something along the lines that some babies can have sensitivity to what's in the dryer sheets but J's never had any issues

We don't use dryer sheets for any of our clothes, and we don't use Dreft. Zero problems here. Wool dryer balls do the same thing as dryer sheets, but they're reusable!

We also use bounce free sheets and never had a problem. We use All free and clear detergent because draft is so expensive!

I was wondering the same thing about washing/drying baby clothes!
@Weagle: Where do you get a wool dryer ball? We actually can't use dryer sheets in our dryer (I don't understand why, the landlord told us not to so we don't). It's not usually a problem but some things get very static-y.

I wash LO's clothes in Target's version of Dreft, no fabric softener, and dry with little to no heat. During one of our baby classes, one of the nurses mentioned not using fabric softener on baby clothes for awhile because of sensitivities.

@lawbee11: Not early at all. Considering that we didn't paint the nursery until a week before I delivered, I say early nesting is always good.

We don't use dryer sheets for any of our clothes - just throw blankets that get really staticky.

@lawbee11: I don't know about 25 weeks, but at 27 weeks all of a sudden I'm like, everything must be done now!!! We don't have baby furniture in the room yet, and I stayed home from work because I wasn't feel great, yet last night I was organizing all the hand me down clothes by size and moving furniture... I'm told that's nesting

I've read that using softener on baby clothes reduces the amount of flame retardant in it. We use dryer balls for all our laundry anyway.

@Foodnerd81: I bought mine from Abby's Lane, but you can get them from most cloth diaper retailers and Etsy. We leave them in the dryer for all laundry, not just diapers. And wool dryer balls are more gentle on clothes than the plastic ones.

I use wool dryer balls for all our laundry - but I'm guessing the chemicals in dryer sheets don't fly for babies!

We were gifted dreft so I'm using it but prefer all free and clear and bounce free sheets ! LO has sensitive skin and I feel like the dreft is too perfumey for him !

Apparently you're not supposed to use dryer sheets (which I didn't know until I started reading Hellobee lol) so we don't use any now. Vinegar in the wash cycle is supposed to act as a softener instead, but I haven't tried it yet. We use whatever free and clear detergent is on sale at the moment because Dreft is ridiculously expensive (IMO)!
