If you gate checked your stroller, did you put the stroller in a protective cover?
I will be traveling alone with LO next week and she's too big for our carrier, which is what I used in the past and always checked the stroller in the cover at ticketing. This time I'll need to use our umbrella stroller to get her through the airport but I'm wondering if I need to cover the stroller before checking it at the gate. Any tips or thoughts please? Thanks!

Yes, I always have, but I always seem to be flying through crappy weather, and my bag usually comes in soaked. I bought a $15 red "gate check" bag and am happy I did with my luck.

I gate checked our city mini bagless and it was totally fine (flew Southwest). But, @lemondrop has a good point about weather..we were lucky to have sunny skies both times that trip.

Not for the umbrella stroller. I did for our regular stroller. Both came out just dirty.

Love our gate check bag! I got it for $5 used and every time we use it, it comes back with huge black stains that would have gotten on the stroller.

It folds up into its own little carrying bag and I keep it in the bottom basket of the stroller or in my luggage.
