I'm thinking about getting DD a lovey soon so she can have something to hold onto for sleep and feeding. She really likes to hold her own hands or my fingers or her feet when she's breastfeeding and I was thinking maybe there's something that would replicate that feeling that would make a good lovey. I don't even know if that's really important. I was thinking of getting those Aden+Anais security blankets since they're small and lightweight.

Weird, we are like the same person sometimes, it's kinda creepy! I just bought the a&a security blankets for DS. I got the bamboo ones, they are softer than the regular ones! I used to swaddle him with an A&A blanket for naps and he would suck on it, but now that I can't swaddle him (since he's rolling), I thought the lovey would be a good substitute! I just put them in the wash so I haven't given one to DS yet, but hoping he will like it!

We introduced an a a lovey at 5 months and it clicked after maybe a month. It is indispensable now as a toddler! He only gets it in his crib and he's obsessed. Makes nap and bed time so much easier!

I was hoping lo would want an a and a blanket as a Lovey, but she prefers this lamb that has a head and then a blanket for the body.

I have a+a blankets in my amazon cart. Did you know that they have a+a blankets with animal heads? They're pretty cute! I have the bamboo swaddle blankets and they're heavenly. Where did you get the bamboo security blankets?

@singingbee: did you give her both or did you try one and it didn't "take" so you tried the other?
I'm thinking of giving it to her while she eats and see if she likes holding it, then when we transition out of the merlin suit and sleep train, giving it to her to hold.

@abbydabbydoodlebug: I saw the animal ones, I thought about those but decided he'd probably like the plain blanket just as well! I got the bamboo ones on amazon (actually on amazon warehouse)!

PS: are you up with your LO too? She hit her magical 3 hour sleep time so I'm nursing her back to sleep. It took her an hour to go to sleep tonight, ugh. I think she's teething because she had a 99.9 fever and was just super cranky today! She took a lap nap today, a first!

Amazon warehouse is where open box or damaged packaging is sold for cheaper! On amazon's home page (go to the full site if on your phone) at the very bottom is has links to all of amazon's sites. Warehouse is one. Then once you go there, click on baby on the left hand side. You can then search by brand (what I usually do), or just look through the stuff! In the case of the a&a stuff I got (security blankets, bibs, and a sleepsack), the cardboard was all dinged up but the actual product was fine!

Introduced the Angel Dear lovey around 3 months. She really became aware and attached to it around 7 months I think? It's definitely a comfort and sleep cue for her now. We have 5 of them and about to order another 1-2 for back-up and traveling!

The aden and anais blankets are lovely, but I'd get the bamboo ones, they are soooo much softer. Our daughter didn't take to hers until she was well over a year, and even now she prefers her jellycat bunny or her winnie the pooh.

We have two Angel Dear loveys (puppy and monkey) and two Jellycat ones (teddy bear and bunny). Personally, I like the Jellycats because they're actual animals holding blankets instead of "stuffed heads," which I find kind of creepy. But DD prefers the texture of the Angel Dear ones (they also have pinched corners, which she likes to chew on). I introduced the loveys in a rotation while nursing around 4 months because she needed her hands occupied, but she didn't really care about any of them until after 5 months. I would sometimes let her fall asleep with it but take it away once she was sleeping. In the past week or so, though, she's been snuggling her lovey close and I haven't always been able to get it away from her. Tonight, she's sleeping on her tummy for the first time (she was practicing rolling and finally passed out after three hours) on top of Monkey and I'm a little freaked out...but I don't dare move her!

E took to her wubbanubs and a jellycat for bedtime. She never really took to an A&A Blanket, even though I used them often
