"Is there anyone who doesn't like mashed potatoes?"
He was adamant that I put the question out to you all, so here I am.
Anyone care to chime in?

Who wouldn't like mashed potatoes? I would seriously question their character:)
MIL doesn't like gravy and refuses to make it when she hosts holidays, but still makes the mashed potatoes (this drives me nuts). If I ever go to her house again and she makes mashed potatoes I have sworn to myself I will bring my own gravy,lol.

I'm not really a fan. I don't hate them... but I don't love them. I think I just don't like the texture of them.

Oh dear, I'm one of those questionable characters who does not like mashed potatoes. My mom loves them and always made them growing up and would make me stay at the table until I'd eaten my portion (which was like a tiny teaspoon full). By the time I ate them, they were always cold, which made them even more disgusting. I'm pretty sure that's put me off them for life.
So yes, I will sheepishly raise my hand and admit that I do not like mashed potatoes.

I use to eat leftover mashed potato sandwiches though, so, I guess I grew out of it?

i looove mashed potatoes! especially cheesy ones.
they're my husband's least favorite kind of potato... mashed would be his last choice. he's crazy.

hahaha! I posed that question a couple of weeks ago because our 2 nephews don't really like mashed potatoes and I thought that was nuts! Well, one of them is okay with it, the other does not like it at all! I'm for the "mashed potatoes can cure any illness" theory!

my LO doesn't like mashed potatoes either. But.. I'm sure she'll grow to love them!

@mrsmenow: Wow I would have never known people miss the gravy so much. I HATE gravy and my husband isn't really a fan either so it would never occur to me to serve it.

I like them, but don't seek them out. I prefer fries - especially sweet potato fries

I like mashed potatoes but, given the choice, I would rather have sweet potatoes.

I used to like them... But then I realized how plain they taste without butter, salt, etc... I just prefer foods that already have flavor and don't need much else. So while I'll eat them, I don't love them.

I hate them!!!! I'll eat them if it's thanksgiving or Christmas dinner but only maybe 1/4 cup with lots of gravy on them. And I love potatoes so I'm not sure why mashed is no good!

Me! I think it stems back to a bad experience as a child. Babysitter made me finish my plate including cold, lumpy, and overly salted spuds. Shudder...
