What color was your LO's hair when he/she was born? How old is he/she now and what color is it? What color is your and your SO's hair?
LO is 5 months old and has light blonde hair that has a reddish tint to it...DH and I both have dark brown hair! We have no idea where his hair came from and are thinking/hoping it will turn dark at some point....

DS was born with dark blonde hair. That turned to a brown, which then turned to the strawberry blonde he is now. That all happened in a course of a year, lol.

DS's hair was really dark when he was born and now it is totally blonde. DH and I are both brunette but we were blonde as kids and ours got darker the older we got.

E's was dark brown when he was born, it started falling out when he was 2.5 months old, we buzzed off most of what was left and it's growing in light blonde now. DH and I both had blonde hair as children, but in both our cases it darkened as we got older.

It sounds like starting blonde and getting darker is common...I think this might be the case for LO because he's very blonde (almost towhead-ish?) And I feel like that color usually changes.

@hilsy85: I think it is common. Most if my siblings and I had light blonde hair as children that darkened into brown by middle school.
DS is only 3 months and was born with dark brown hair. His hair is still brown, but he's mostly bald, haha.

I was born with very red hair, and then it turned super blonde at around 1 year. and both my parents have very dark hair! my hair is just starting to get darker but i'm still dirty blonde (in my 30s!). no one in my family has red hair, so no clue where that came from either!

P's has been reddish blonde since she was born. It looks alot darker/blonde inside but once the light hits it there's no missing the red!

@hilsy85: i swear it's gotten much darker in the past 2 years! still lightens a little in the sun though. i never understood why i didn't have very dark brown hair though, haha.

I was born with a full head of red hair, it stayed red (both my parents have dark brown hair, my grandpa is the redhead).
DS was born with dark hair, it stayed dark (DH has dark hair).

#1 was born with black hair and it turned to a medium brown. Lo #2 had dark brown hair when she was born and it turned to a light brown.

I have dark brown hair. DH has medium brown hair with a reddish tint. DS was born with black hair. After it fell out, it grew back dark but has gotten lighter over time. He's 18 months and it's really light brown. I think it'll eventually be blonde.
Both of my parents have dark brown hair. My brother was born with dark hair but it eventually turned blonde for several years. Now he has super dark hair.

You don't want it to stay light?
Both my parents have dark brown hair. Somehow I ended up with blonde hair. Must have been a recessive trait both of my parents carried. Not even any of my grandparents had blonde hair! It used to be platinum and now it's turning into a dirty blonde. So it is possible for you both to have dark hair and for your LO to have light hair.

@mrskc: noo I want it to turn dark. I guess I always pictured our kids with dark hair/dark eyes and he has blonde hair and blue eyes!

DH and I both had blonde hair when we were born. So zi was shocked when R came out with dark brown hair. My grandma told me my Dad had dark hair and then it turned blonde. So maybe that is what is going to happen to her too.

Dh and I have dark brown hair, lo was born with dark brown and at 20 months its still here. The only other color I think she'd have a chance at is red, my mom and her family has lots of red heads. Maybe my next will be a red head.

@hilsy85: I can understand that. You want him to look like you and your DH! I kinda hoped my LO would have ended up with lighter eyes but they are dark brown like my husbands. I'm hoping his hair color will look like a mix of ours. L is so cute with his blue eyes and reddish fluffy hair!

At birth, X's hair was dark brown with red tones coming through. At 16 months, it's still red. I'm a redhead. My husband has warm brown hair.
@rachiecakes: My son totally has the same coloring you have in your baby pictures! Red hair, dark brown eyes.
