So Wagon Jr. has had a raised red rash on his chin for about the past 4 or 5 weeks (!!!). He is a very drooly kid and always has been, so we combated drool rash many times, but not for about a year now (he's 2 years 5 months). We went about our normal rashy-type treatments for 3 or 4 days at a time, sometimes a week at a time, and nothing seemed to change or improve the rash at all. It has very slowly spread and now covers most of the underside of his chin, but it started out pretty big too, so the spread hasn't been too much. I don't think it bothered him in the beginning, but now he picks at it constantly, causing it to open up and bleed. I can't tell if it's because it's itchy or because we keep fussing with it and talking about it.

Here are the things we tried:

Aquaphor: seemed to keep it moisturized and less red, but didn't change it.
Vaseline: again, seemed to keep it moisturized and less red but didn't change it.
Hydrocortizone/Idoquinol (the prescription ointment we got for drool rash): no change.
Clotrimazole (Lotrimin, in case it was yeast): blew it up into a blistery mess so I stopped after 2 days.
Antibiotic cream (prescription after we took him to see the doc): no change.
Babyganics Eczema treatment cream: totally dried it out and started to peel-- this is when he really started picking at it and it started dripping blood.
Keeping it clean and dry for 3 days, no ointments or anything: got less red but otherwise no change.

We've got another appointment tomorrow so the pediatrician will look at it again, but any suggestions out there? I'm starting to think it's just eczema and really difficult to get rid of.
