So for the past two days the area around my belly button has been itchy. Today it's been worse so I lifted up my shirt and realized I have lots of light pink bumps all over my stomach. I've read about PUPPP but it says it doesn't usually happen until the third trimester. I'm only 15weeks. Has anyone else had this or something similar earlier in pregnancy?

Some people get it early. It's hell, I hope you don't have it. I got it really badly around 36 weeks. All of the remedies they talk about help - the pine tar soap, the hot/cold water, the topical anti-itch stuff. To a point. After a while I was getting out of bed every hour to put on more medicine. I eventually went and saw my dermatologist and got a steroid that was safe to take, and that helped. Don't try to be a hero, though - it's so impossible.
And don't worry - the scratching doesn't leave scars. If you get it badly your skin may be a little discolored where the hives were for a few weeks. But it goes away.

@marionberry: my puppp started at about 24w and was mild but then reached a HIGH level at about 36w and I was overdue too so that sucked. If you believe in a God, I suggest you beg him to spare you puppp. It made my last few weeks hell-ish.
Get some cortisone & some bendryl.
It goes away a few hours/ days after birth. The itching stopped right away but the bumps didn't subside for about 3-6 days? Lotion up & take cool showers:) -
I don't know what this PUPPP is, but I have noticed over the last week my belly has been more sensitive. As in certain things that wouldn't usually, are irritating the skin... like a particular pair of leggings and rubbing lotion on. When I've checked the area it looks more pink and blotchy, so maybe it's something different.
I hope it's just a random symptom and clears up for you soon!

@sarac: @turtledoves: Thanks for your stories and advice. I went to see the doctor today for my monthly checkup and told him about my itchy belly and the pink dots but of course this morning they're barely noticeable. He looked, didn't see anything, and didn't really say anything else. Since it's really early for PUPPPs I am hoping it is more of an irritation (I do have sensitive skin) than a rash, like @illumina said. I'm going to have to just watch it for awhile and see what happens. It's usually just itchy here and there, but was really bad last night before I put lotion on. Who knows what's wrong...I guess I'll call the doctor if they get bad again.

I'm really happy to hear. It's hard to overstate how bad pupps can get - I think we mostly just try to put it out of our minds.

@sarac: Your post this morning had me totally freaked out. I don't want to endure that for 25 more weeks. However, for my baby I'd do anything and if it's just part of my journey I'll get over it. I definitely prayed to God though that he'd give me a reprieve for a little while, lol.

@marionberry: I honestly toned down the crappiness of it to try not to be too scary. My (very crunchy) midwife said that severe PUPPS was a legit reason to induce, which shocked me. But it's not always so bad! This is the folly of internet advice, I guess. You probably will be spared!

I was itchy my entire pregnancy with LO#2. It was awful. I would scratch to the point of drawing blood and I have itty bitty scars all over my chest and stomach now. The doctors ran a boatload of tests and everyone of them came back negative. The only thing that worked for about half of the day was slathering on heavy duty lotion. I would do my first lather in the morning right after a shower, and the second lather of lotion right after work (if I could wait that long through the itchies!)
