My BIL and his FI are expecting a little one! With their approval, I told a ton of my friends the news....
A lot of my friends told me congrats(I'm eating up this Aunt stuff) but a few of them asked me if I was ok....since LO won't be the center of attention anymore. I thought that was a little weird...has anyone ever received a reaction like that? I can't wait for LO to have a cousin!

I was an aunt first and then a mom-to-be, and my sisters/sister-in law was nothing but excited for me! I think my youngest sister might have been a little "sad" that her daughter would no longer be the baby (she will be just turning one when my LO is born) but they will be so close in age they will get to grow up together and that's most important! my sis likes to have the attention, but she's over it now I think.
All my nieces are so excited to meet her, they always are talking to her in my belly and my 2 year old niece always wants me to lift my shirt up so she can see the baby and feel her move/kick.

I wish my sister would get married and have a baby!!!! I don't think I'll ever be an aunt.. -.- sisters are single and no prospective in sight. they're older than me too!

Really? That is a strange reaction! My older sister is nothing but excited that she finally gets to be an aunt! One of the first things *all* of my siblings said was: "This means <nephew> will have a cousin!"
Cousins are the best. Being an aunt is also the best. Congrats!

Well, I'm already an aunt to 6 nieces and nephews on my husband's side, and my SIL (his brother's wife) is super excited that we are TTC! I'd be thrilled if our future baby had a cousin their age! As it is, my sisters (who are 19) are several years away from baby-making...and my nieces and nephews range in age from 2 years to 16. At least I'll have some babysitters

I can understand that. My SIL has the only grandchild right now so she is eating.it.up- LOVES the attention that her DD brings her from the family.. DH and I kindof hinted to her that we're going to TTC this year and she got really annoyed. Later that week she said she was going to TTC too, (so she can have the "baby" baby, and our LO will be old news).

My sister can't WAIT for me to have a baby. Although, her son was born only about 6 months before my other nephew, so it's not like her son is the only one, but we all think it is so great that the cousins will be so close in age. I never had cousins until I was a teenager so we didn't grow up with them at all.
Not a mom yet, but I love my nephews to death. Being an aunt is great!

if i had a LO already, i'd be THRILLED!! i can't wait to have a LO & hope for lots of cousins for them to play with=) but since making a LO is taking longer than we hoped, if i found out right now that i was going to be an auntie, it would break my heart at first. none of our siblings are married (though one is getting married soon, which is super exciting!), so it would be a whoops'a'baby. once we get pregnant though, it's go time for the rest of 'em! cousins are great!

I will totally admit I was kind of happy that we are having a baby before my bro because our LO will be the first grandchild on both sides and I think that's cool. But now that we have announced I would LOOOOVE it if we found out bro and SIL were pregnant too. Close cousins is such a wonderful thing.
