DH and I like the fake stuff! We're getting this installed when we build our house.
It's awesome.

I love the idea of never having to mow or worry about tracking in grass but I love the smell of a fresh cut lawn, and the feeling of grass on my bare feet.

Getting road rash from your grass isn't the typical childhood experience

A friend of mine put the fake stuff in his backyard. There was enough brown it looked real. He has two dogs that loved playing in it.

I had no idea people even put the fake stuff in yards! We have real, don't think I'd ever consider otherwise.

Real, all the way. Childhood indoor soccer gave me an intense dislike for fake grass and astroturf.

Real, real, real. My sisters have had too many instances of turf toe from playing field hockey.

Wow, that stuff looks great! I've only seen the ugly cheap looking stuff. Some of those pictures, I wouldn't even question that it's not real! But I'd want the flexibility to move things around in the yard and DH looooooves grass. He's kind of obessesed with it! It would be his nightmare if someone replaced it. Haha

My neighbors have fake in their front yard and it looks really nice! It does crack me up to see him vacuum his yard though!

Real for me. I love the smell, I love seeing rabbits in my yard, and I love the feel of morning dew on my toes! Plus it seems like the fake stuff would just get kind of gross and dirty and could start growing some nasty stuff if you aren't meticulous about taking care of it.

I never knew that you could get that for an entire yard. I guess why not? Just wondering if it gets nasty after awhile?

Real. A friend of ours owns a business similar to this. He offered us an amazing deal but there is no way I could do it. As much as a pain in the ass it is to water, seed, fertilize, weed, etc.. It's my pain in the ass and I wouldn't have it any other way.

@chopsuey119-- oh my goodness, we just got Xgrass in the spring and we LOVE it!!! We live in the city but have a yard-- due to the soil and shade it was tough to grow real grass.
It looks so real and even feels real but no grass stains or mowing or patches dying (we also have a doggie). I think when people think of fake grass they are thinking of astro-turf and this is so different. Def. a splurge, but so far we are sooooo happy with it and love spending so much time outside.
Good luck!

@RLCeigh: Glad to hear you love it!! We live in the city right now and so many places have Xgrass! Love how it looks and feels, and it's so low maintenance! Esp love how it drains water so quickly.
Hoping we'll have less bugs and little gnats flying around too..!

We have a lot of that stuff on porches around here, I prefer real.

My parents put out the fake grass in front of their camper when they go camping. I need the real stuff at my house.

@chopsuey119: If you don't mind me asking...How much does that stuff cost?? It looks awesome!!

@CottonCandy: I have no idea! We havent Started building yet and havent asked for a quote. The first time I saw it I totally thought it was real grass. Even after touching it I wasn't 100% sure it was fake
@RLCeigh: do you mind telling us how much it cost..?

@chopsuey119: I would be all about that stuff! I definitely want a yard for the pup and Sadie to play, but we hate yard work. After working all week who wants to spend all weekend on their hands in knees in the yard?! We even pay someone to cut the grass, because cutting the grass SUCKS. I want some xgrass.

@cottoncandy and @chopsuey119: well we got the yard redone (some concrete, raised garden beds, rain water containers) so the total cost was an investment:) I think the grass part including everything was $5,000 but it is guarenteed for life. It's costly but we are taking stay- cations this summer!

@RLCeigh: thanks! Yeah we figured it's gonna cost us a lot, but the lifetime guarantee totally makes it worth it!
