We need a travel high chair like the Phil and Ted's but something that is more in our budget (think standard Ikea high chair budget). Have you used a portable/hook-on high chair? Which one did you use and how did you like it? Bonus point for a good quality one under $30.

We have the Chicco one too and love it! You can sometimes find them use too. The cover comes off for easy washing. I still haven't figured out the difference that makes the P&T so much more expensive.

@T.H.O.U.: do you think it would be usable for a baby who isn't sitting up independently? We need to get a high chair and due to space limitations I think we're leaning toward this one...

@hilsy85: I don't think so. But you could always use a bouncy seat or something until sitting better. It does have a low back and across the back is just a metal bar covered in foam and then fabric. If they fall back they would hit it. Also, the seat is very wide so if they are leaned back against the back, there is a LOT of space from the leg holes. I think all of the clip on seats are designed this way.

Check NBD, I got the Inglesina Fast Chair and really liked it but had to return bc the clamp depth was not deep enough for our table. -

@regberadaisy: yes, inlaws! I will check out the inglesina. Their table is pretty thin with no lip, if I remember correctly. But now I'm wondering if it's glass and I'm not sure I want to hook a high chair onto a glass table!! Maybe I will ask them to rent one while we're in town...

we use the fisherprice healthy care deluxe booster seat which is really easy to travel with and we use that as our regular high chair. its the best.

We have the chicco one and my Lo loves it. I was able to buy it on craigslist for $15.
