We just got a huge quote to fix our 2002 Subaru Outback Sport. The quote is more than the car is worth so we are probably going to be buying a new or slightly used car this weekend.
We don't have any kids yet, but we will in the next couple of years. This car will not be our family car, but it needs to be able to fit at least one or two car seats. This car will mostly be a commuter car so we aren't looking for anything fancy.

I love my honda crv. it'll definitely fit 2 car seats and it doesn't suck a ton of gas. It's not quiiiite mid sized, though? Not mid sized like, toyota highlander midsized.

I have a Mazda 5, which is a "sport wagon" but it's also a mini minivan. Gets really good gas mileage, very quiet and smooth, but can be really zippy too, which is nice on the highway when you need to pass people. I love it!

I really want an SUV, but I think we are going to wait a few years before we buy one. We are thinking more along the lines of a sedan or hatchback right now because they are generally cheaper. We don't need an SUV yet.

Accords are always a reliable choice for sedans. Decent size, holds its value, decent gas mileage.

This is also a good time of year to see if there are 2013s left. I know for the cars/SUVs I'm looking at, there are still 2013s on the lot and for a few thousand less. They want those gone off their lot!

My parents have the new Highlander - I think it's a nice size. Not too big, not too small. The Venza is nice, too.

Toyota matrix.its a great car. It has a ton of room and lasts forever. Mine is a 2004 with 175,000 miles on it. Great gas mileage. I love this car.
I'd love a Subaru outback, but we can't afford one right now. This Toyota has been great, and I highly recommend it.

my impreza. Hatchbacks are awesome! My friend got in a terrible accident in his impreza (like, the car was flipped upside down wedged in a tree) and he walked out with no scratches.

We have a Jetta sports wagon. It'll fit 2 car seats, is comfortable, & gets great gas mileage (we have the TDI version).

Another Subaru! Between My husband and I we've had 3 and love them. I think the forester is a good option too, but I've never owned one.

I have a 2013 outback and loveeeeee it! One 16 month old now and other in 6 weeks or so. Great kid car and tons of space!

We ended up going with a 2013 Hyundai Elantra. We are probably going to spring for an SUV when our other car dies.
It has lot of room in the back and can definitely accommodate two car seats. It also gets 38 mpg highway which is great.
