I have the relax melodies app (free version on apple) on my ipod touch and an ipod dock. He listens to the rain and thunderstorm noises, so that when it's rainy or windy or stormy (which it is a LOT here) he's used to the noises!

We have the munchkin noise machine & projector. She likes the white noise to sleep, and the Mozart when just chillin'. She LOVES the projector. The white noise app on my phone gets the most use though!

Looks like iphone apps are the way to go..lol I was thinking about getting a sound machine that allows you to plug in a mp3 player aswell so then I guess I could benefit from both!

@Mrs squirreld: we have a first years one that has an mp3 adapter. We've only been using it for 2 weeks, but really like it so far. It was inexpensive and has lots of white noise and music options.

We have the Graco Sweet Slumber machine. We love it. It has 7 or 8 different white noise noises, plus music, plus you can plug your iPod into it. We use the white noise at night and then the lullaby playlist on my iPod for naps. It also has a night light. It's small and can run on battery, too.

I've heard great things about the Dohm! We have the sleep sheep and we're going to hold out and see if it works well enough. If it doesn't, we'll try the Dohm.

We really like this one. It plays all night if you want it to and has a projector. Rain, heartbeat, ocean, and 3 lullabys. And cheap! We keep it on ocean for sleep.

We registered for the Marpac dohm after I read so many great reviews of it on Hellobee (but we haven't actually used it yet).
