We desperately need a new vacuum. Ours barely does the job and DH said tonight we can buy a new one this weekend! However, I have no idea where to start. All I know is I hate ours (it was a hand-me-down we got when we first got married) and can't wait to throw it in the dump.

@Mrs. Bee: I can't stand our dyson! I feel like for what I paid it doesn't work the way I want. We had our house keepers come and I realized they use a Miele and the carpet looks 100x better when they come!

Shark Pro. Overall an amazing vacuum. I've had ours for more than 2 years and still works like new. And, for an affordable price, which makes me love it even more.

@Mrs. Bee: @MrsH: Do you think it has to be one of the higher end Mieles? I happened to be thinking of using some GCs to buy a Miele to replace our dying Dyson but with only wood floors am just not sure if I can justify more than a basic one. I just know we love love love our Miele dishwasher!

I went cheap with a Dust Devil Dash. It works wonderfully, BUT we have hardwood floors, low pile rugs and no pets.

I love the idea of a Miele but we're going to try the Shark Pro first because of the cheaper price tag. I'm hoping it works out and that we don't regret spending less but we'll see!

The E2 rainbow vacuum! we got ours from Ebay refurbished and it's Amazing!!! It's the same vaccum that Ray buys in Everybody Loves Raymond! It uses no bags just water and has a HEPA filter. I love it!!
