Any advice? We ran out of honey a few weeks ago, and I haven't had a chance to get more (will do this), but what else can I try? I'm up all night coughing.

You can take Robitussin. Just be sure to ask the pharmacist to be sure you get the right one, for example you can't take DM.

Plain Robitussin and tea with honey and lemon are what I'm using to survive. If it's due to drainage, my OB cleared using one of the types of Mucinex to help get rid of some of that.

Is it from post-nasal drip? If so...getting the netti pot has helped DH. it clears out his nasal passages so the post-nasal drip stops and helps a bit with the cough.
Other than that, a humidifier, and if it's really bad, plain Robitussin.

@youboots: It's ok. I feel ok otherwise (I mean, besides the nagging morning sickness that makes me feel like crap, ha).

@2PeasinaPod: I don't think it is. My throat just itches ... I have mucous, but it's pretty "stuck" in there. Maybe that's what PND is??

@Mrs. Blue: Thank you!! Sorry you're going through it too. Tis the season. LO has it, and she can't take anything (doc said not til she's 4).

@littlejoy: Not to scare you, but if it lingers on you may want to see your GP. I had walking pneumonia (mycoplasma) while pregnant with DD2...in the end, my doctor and OB agreed it was best for me (and safe for the baby) to take antibiotics (I believe she gave me a zpack). Obviously that's more of a last resort, but just so you don't suffer unnecessarily if things get bad! Hope you feel better soon!

@PinkElephant: Thank you. A good reminder to remember that I shouldn't accept "I'm just going to be sick" without keeping an eye on the progress.

My OB has approved Cepacol cough drops, but you'd probably want to ask yours first.
