I thought we'd post a quick refresher on how replies work!

1) You can click REPLY next to any comment, and an @username will appear in the text box. For example, if you click to REPLY to this post... @mrbee will appear in your posting form.

2) When you submit your post, anyone you've replied to will get an email alert. For example, if you reply to my post with a @mrbee in there... I will get an email alert.

3) If you don't want to get email alerts, you can always optout here:

A few extra notes:

* PLEASE USE THE REPLY LINK!: A number of times, we'll get a question about why a reply notification didn't go through... usually the issue is that the person who wrote the reply typed in the person's username by hand. If you accidentally have a typo in the username (or remove the colon), then the email alert won't be sent!

* WE'RE NOT ABLE TO SUPPORT PAGING: We can only send an email notification to someone who has already commented on the thread! We used to allow "paging," where you could send a notification to someone who hadn't yet replied on the thread... but that ended up becoming an issue for us. If a user was paged and marked that email as spam, then everyone's email notifications would stop being delivered! So we had to stop support paging.
