Has anyone ever attempted to return something to Old Navy that was over their 45 day limit? What happens? Do they just say you can't return it or do they give you store credit for the items? I have the receipt, I've just held onto the items a bit too long.

I had my receipt and they let me return the items but I had to wait to receive the refund check in the mail.

Not Old Navy, but I tried this at Banana Republic (same company so I assume it would be similar) and they said they could give me a store credit which would be mailed to me, but it would only be for the lowest amount that the item ever sold for. So I would have gotten something like 50% of what I actually paid.

Same experience as Catlady when I went to Gap and tried to do a return over 45 days. Btw - Gap just changed their return policy to be 30 days.

Yes and they wouldn't take it!!! It was such a bummer and no store credit. I had outfits for kids from Christmas and then we ended up in ER and they never wore them, I finally took them back in like March, with tags on and they wouldn't accept or even give store credit. I ended up putting the kids in the outfits for another event we had but I was so annoyed.

They give you credit only and it's the value of what it's worth current day, regardless how much you've paid for it, even if you have a receipt.
So esp Old Navy with all their sales and stuff, it's like a couple of dollars.
