I love RDJ but I think BC is absolutely brilliant as Sherlock (lol pun unintended!). He plays the...aloof, socially-inept genius so well.
I've not read Sherlock Holmes so I'm not sure which is more true to the written character, but I could watch BC be him all day (though admittedly, I could watch RDJ all day too...but for a much different reason
)

Benedict of course! I love Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man (no one could play that role better) but Benedict is the PERFECT Sherlock Holmes. He's amazing.

Gotta say, this is not the question I expected with this title. I was thinking something more along the lines of "who's hotter?"
That being said, gotta go with Benedict Cumberbatch. He's just amazing in the role. Though for my question I would have picked RDJ. Except the voice. If there was a way just to sleep with someone's voice, I'd find a way with Benedict Cumberbatch.

@lovehoneybee: I have read the originals and both actors are very, very good at carrying the role, in their own ways. But I think I have to go with Benedict Cumberbatch too. For now. Until the next RDJ Sherlock Holmes movie comes out, teehee.

RD Jr. is one of my older men crushes. I have sadly never seen Benedict Cumberbatch (who has, like, the best name ever!). I will say @mrbee: that Jonny Lee Miller does do a good job on Elementary. He has the quirky Sherlock thing down.
