I have been getting round ligament pain as of late, I was also getting it a few weeks back.... For me, it's mostly on the sides of my belly, and a little below, sometimes coming up from the right groin area--- I get it if I'm walking too fast, or dehydrated.... Feels like a cramp like when you are running.
Haven't really had heartburn yet! So not so sure about that one!

I've been getting what I think are round ligament pains lately. When I move, it feels like some muscle inside of me stayed tight and didn't get the memo to move and I kind of pulled it. More inside of me than a cramp.
Heartburn to me feels like that feeling you get before you throw up a little in your mouth. Sometimes it feels exactly like what it sounds like - you have something hot/burning in your chest area.

My round ligament pain hurts like a mother!! I just ache all the way from my groin up along the sides of my belly to my hips. Sometimes (like today) it hurts ALL day. It sucks.
Heartburn can feel different for me. Before pregnancy when I got it I would have burning pain in the back of my throat. Now when I get heartburn it's like pressure at the top of my abdomen. Makes it hard to breath.

Hmm...sounds like what I may have had with my second. I had MAJOR groin pain and couldn't lift up my left leg w/o feeling a lot of pain. It went away a couple of weeks after he was born. Your ligaments loosen as you get closer to your due date. Suppose to help with vaginal delivery...
Heartburn is like an acidic feeling in your throat after you eat heartburn inducing food or just food sometimes. I just had TUMS every time I felt it and felt fine afterwards.

I think heartburn was the WORST symptom I had. I really think you'll know it when you have it...I never had it either until I was prego. It's like an acid burning feeling. EVERYTHING caused it for me, even drinking only water. Tums didn't help and I finally caved my 3rd tri about 30 weeks and started taking OTC acid blockers, the max dosage, like a knock-off Prilosec. Seriously, it was horrible. I had reflux also at night, which is disgusting and like vomiting in your mouth.

UGH, these are the two symptoms that have made my life miserable the past couple of weeks.
My round ligament pain was concentrated on my left side... sometimes it would just be an hour or so of constant aches/cramps... then another day it would last all day.
The heartburn is killer. It's this tightening, burning sensation in the middle of your chest. It's kept me up the last few nights

@mrsjyw: ugh. Sorry you're feeling both of these. I had the round ligament pain and later groin pain and it was just horrible. I think mine started around 14 weeks or so? It was ridiculous how long it lasted. I hope it gets better for you!!

@mediagirl: ty friend! Ugh... .the RLP hasn't been too bad this week (knock on wood), but of course the breathing/heart burn is at its worst! oh the joys!

My round ligament pain literally feels like pain on either side of my uterus, or down my back. It's worse when I'm laying in an odd position and I sneeze or couch, or when I stretch sometimes.
My heartburn is awful right now. It's a burning sensation all up and down my upper abdomen and chest in a straight line and it feels like there's something stuck in the back of my throat. Well, this all too shall pass!

I am new to this whole pregnancy thing, what is round ligament pain?
GOLD / squash / 13464 posts
@ladyfingers: sneezing is the WORST! I shout "ouch" every time I sneeze. My husband gets all questiony "how could a sneeze hurt". Um... shut it dude because it feels like I was just STABBED on either side of my uterus!!

@Smurfette: Your round ligaments hold your uterus in place. As your uterus grows and moves the ligaments get stretched. Some people feel a lot pain associated with it, and some people feel none. You just never know.

@MamaMoose: Yeah DH gets really worried when I have pains, it's kinda cute. But also annoying.

@MamaMoose: I am having a lot of cramping in that region. Is that something different?
GOLD / squash / 13464 posts
@Smurfette: It sometimes feels like cramping. But RLP doesn't really get intense until the second trimester. You are probably just having some growing pains. You are still really early right?

@ladyfingers: Sneezing has been uncomfortable for me too. It's totally different from when my abs would be sore from sit ups and I'd sneeze. This time it feels uncomfortable on the sides.

@MamaMoose: Yeah, Sunday I will be 5 weeks. So super early. I know cramping is normal. Just never heard of this RLP. I have to much to learn still! Thanks!

I am 14 weeks and started having RLP within the last week or so. When I change position quickly (like sitting up or rolling over in bed), I get a sharp, stabbing pain in my abdomen. At first I thought it was just muscle strain from things stretching and moving around in there, but then I read about RLP and realized that was what it was.
I haven't had any heartburn (*knocks wood*), but I have been having INTENSE back pain. I grabbed one of the physical therapists that I work with and talked to him. He said it's probably hormones causing my muscles to go into spasm and knot up. I really hope this doesn't last for the entire pregnancy - it's excruciating!
