I don't think I was necessarily considered high risk for that reason, more because of my PCOS and progesterone. My hypo was regulated and "normal" because of the synthroid at the start of pregnancy.

They did make sure I was monitored frequently, and increased my dosage twice during pregnancy. They freaked out at bad lab results (I think my tsh was over 10) and started sending me to the perinatologists for extra testing and biophysical profiles.

I never had a weird med schedule, they just increased the dosing twice. I was on 225 mcg by the third thri. I guess one of the potential side effects of *uncontrolled* hypo is low birth weight but they were actually worried he would be too big from the ultrasounds.

I am no longer expecting and have a happy and healthy 4 month old!

Ps, doctors can bill your insurance more for "high risk" so there's a good chance that's why they labeled you as such.....as long as your are medicated and checked regularly you'll be fine.

@Wheres_C Haha!! My son was 2 wks late so he was big, lol! Btw, I have a 5 month old.

I have always had different doses on different days! It stays in your system so long I think the important thing is how much you get per week. And I don't think I was considered high risk but I'm not sure how to tell. My OB didn't say I was!
