I spend about 2 hours a day cleaning. I hate wasting an entire day on chores so I try to spread them out throughout the week.

Wow! Definitely not that much. Half-hour at most, and more time on the weekend as needed. Perhaps my standards are lower

I spend probably 1-2 hours every other day doing dishes, sweeping the floors, laundry, etc. I mainly try to do it during LO's naps.

We have a cleaning lady for deep cleaning..... so I usually just spend some time picking up and cleaning up after the messes that we make as we make them. I also do a ton of laundry.... but that takes longer now that LO is 2 and loves to help with those things.

@Mrs. Yoyo: I want to try to trim down to :30 per day! I think the fact that we have three dogs plus a toddler makes it difficult to keep clean - someone is always making a mess. Plus I'm kinda OCD

I'm a temporary SAHM (on mat leave) and I probably spend about 30 mins cleaning on avg every day. I pick a room a day to deep clean, and it doesn't take too much time.

@pinkcupcake: Oh three dogs will do it! I don't have those, but I do have the toddler ... And since we have a playroom now we have cut way down on the "toys everywhere" problem. Most of my time is probably spent on the kitchen, and DH is good about vacuuming/sweeping.

I spend about 45 minutes each day picking up, wiping down, and doing laundry. DH and I used to then spend nearly half a saturday each week doing the serious cleaning. We finally got a cleaning lady twice a month when DH's job demanded too much of his time and energy.
ETA - Annnnnddd.... I just realized this post was for SAHM. DH and I are just DINKs at this point. Hahaha.... Sorry to comment.

2-2.5 hrs? Dishes, laundry, mopping, regular cleanup of spaces, etc. I am so far behind right now btw!

@pinkcupcake: with a dog, floors are a real problem for me!

sometimes it feels like I spend all day cleaning. in reality, it's probably 45 min to an hour total?

@Mrs. Sketchbook: yeah, isn't it crazy how much stuff dogs track around?!
I am so jealous of you ladies that only need to spend :30-:45 per say cleaning. How do you do it?! :T

Hmm, I started mat leave a week ago (still waiting on Baby) and I think I've done a total of 2 hours since then. Your house must be spotless!

Including dishes after dinner (we don't have a dishwasher), probably about an hour to an hour and a half.
cantaloupe / 6017 posts
probably about an hour, including dishes (no dishwasher). But we live in a very tiny 2-bedroom apartment, and it is currently kind of gross. I have a 4-month old who just started taking *some* of her naps alone. Hopefully by the time she is a year, I will be caught up.

About an hour - laundry, dishes, tidying, picking up toys, light housework. A cleaning lady comes every other week for deep cleaning.

Total? 30 minutes to an hour, but way spread out. I guess more like an hour most days.

Ha ha, this is the BIGGEST bone of contention with DH right now. He wants me to spend 20 minutes cleaning each day, but he expects a GOOD clean in that time. Sounds great, but A won't nap in her crib, only in the bed with me, so I have zilch time to actually do that cleaning. We're working on getting her to nap in her crib this week. I would love a cleaner but can't justify the cost when I'm at home all day.

Depends - most days...none! (Aside from normal picking up after DD)
I do all our laundry in one day and vacuum once a week.
DH does the dishes every night and vacuums once a week too.
Sundays we wipe down counters/bathrooms and dust. I guess we just aren't really messy people?

I just started a daily routine and I'd guess I do roughly 2 to 3 hours cleaning as well of you include clearing clutter and putting away toys. We have a very small space so I kind if have to or it gets out of control quickly.

I'd say between 1-2 hrs depending on how much laundry I have.
persimmon / 1026 posts
Probably about 90 minutes, but definitely spread out during the entire day.

Whoa. Every day? Probably 45 minutes, excluding laundry. Some days zero. I spend a lot more time cooking/baking than I do cleaning.
pineapple / 12234 posts
About an hour excluding laundry. I try to do a specific task per day.
