We are about to move and I am going to be a SAHM. (I'll keep WAH a few hours per week, but I'm cutting back to where I won't need childcare.) One thing I am really excited about is having the time during the day to work out and I want to make it a priority.

I have never been motivated to work out at home. I do best when I go to the gym. I'm going to find a gym with a nice daycare in our new city - hopefully LO will go since she struggles with separation! But I'm not sure when to go. I don't want the gym daycare to be LO's main activity of the day. My hope is to have an activity for LO every morning - gymnastics, story time, children's museum, etc. - and then in the afternoon run errands or do things around the house.

If we go to the gym early in the morning before her activities, she may be more likely to be shy and struggle with the separation. I think activities together will warm her up that she'll be more willing to go play when we get to the gym after.

BUT - if we go after it might be too close to lunchtime/naptime and she could be cranky.

If we go to the gym in the afternoon after her nap, I'm afraid it will cut into the time that I really need to set aside to get things done. Plus, that's packing us up and driving back & forth twice in one day - though the gym I have in mind is really close to our house.

What do you do?
