I just read that Lauren Bush (niece of George W) married Ralph Lauren's son David... which makes her Lauren Lauren!
Do you know anyone with the same first and last name?

I knew a Christopher Christopher in junior high. He was so embarrassed about it and went by his middle name!

Yes! I went to high school with a guy named Duncan Duncan. A girl I can understand a little more because it's possible (like in this case) that she married into the situation. For a boy, it's just not acceptable to me because he is more than likely stuck with it forever.

Lol! What bad luck. No I don't know anyone, but I can't stand when I see names like John Johnson - come on parents, you can do better than that!

Not exactly the same but I know a John Johnson. I have no clue why a parent would do that!

I don't personally know anyone, but I always think it's weird to hear people with names like that. Like, Chris Christie, the governor of NJ. I understand it more to be a woman married into it, but in that case, I don't think that I would take my husband's last name.

@autumnlove: I know someone with that name. It's family tradition. His grandson will have the same name. I forget which name they use for the alternate generations.

My MIL married into it! She has the same first name and last name but she uses her maiden name as a middle to break it up.

My great-great grandfather was Thomas Thomas. I cannot imagine doing that to my child though.

I've never understood why parents do that! Everytime I hear Chris Christie I wonder why? I don't know anyone personally, but DH and I do joke about that a lot lately-- there is a literary first name that is only 2 letters off from our last name, so we joke that we will name LO that if he is a boy.

A friend's dad is Thomas Thomas. And DH is Jason Jay J-lastname. Jay was his grandfather and he's the oldest which is why he got it as a middle name. I like the "all J" part.

No I don't know anyone with the same first and last name. In her case, I wouldn't take my DH's last name.

That's pretty cool. If you pronounce the last name in a fancy way like Sofia Loren, then it sounds less ditto-y.

Yes I know an Allison Allison - she married into it and seemed to really like that it's so memorable and that they're both spelled the same!

I know someone like this, but I don't want to say her name because it's distinctive.

My parents knew someone who after married her name was Judy Judy.

I just found out a coworker of mine has the same first and last name! He's Egyptian

i dont know why parents would do that, but i guess if you marry into it, its unavoidable...except that i would probably keep my maiden name in that case!

One of my friends from high school is about to get married. Her name will be Morgan Morgan. She is considering hyphenating or keeping her maiden name.

I went to school with a guy named Robert Roberts. Apparently the Dr's told his parents he wouldn't live to be 5 days old when he was born so they just named him Robert.... alas, I met him when he was 17 in my physics class. I guess the Dr's were wrong!

My friend's last name is Pedersen but pronounced Peterson, and her dad is LITERALLY Peder Pedersen (like Peter Peterson) but goes by Pete.
I knew a friend of a friend's wife was Kelly Kelley. She was in sales so she really liked it.
