we are looking to go over for a week in march. We would like to rent a condo or house (we'll be going with my parents too). Any thoughts on Sanibel vs. Captiva Island? Our daughter will be 20 months. Looking for a warm, low-key vacation

Sanibel - it has a lot more to offer for things to do and you can still visit Captiva. There just isn't much on Captiva for it to be your "home base."

We go to Sanibel every spring since I was a kid and we love it - it's the perfect lowkey vacation with kids. We took my daughter at 3 months and again at 15 months, our next trip she'll be 2 and our 2nd will be 5 months. All the restaurants are family friendly and you can rent bikes with baby seats and trailers - it's great! We go with my parents as well, which is perfect so you can get out for a baby free nice dinner. Captiva doesn't have as much to do, but good for day trips.

Late to this post. But I was just searching as we are planning on going to Tween Waters on Captiva at the end of April! We are going to have a car and plan on driving around Sanibel quite a bit as well.
