Thanks for sharing this. I had read about it years ago and it remains one of my biggest fears and I sort of panic any time a kid coughs after we spend a lot of time at the pool. It is really nice to read something with a lot of details.

Thanks for sharing...it's a good reminder to keep LO's safe near water. I remember seeing this on Oprah years ago, I think they called it dry drowning - but still the same thing, a little boy fell into the pool, his mom was right with him, helped him out of the pool and he acted fine after the incident but died in his sleep that night

This has been on my mind all day since reading it last night! My LO chokes drinking water everyday and I'm freaking out that that could cause secondary drowning! I'm very glad to have read about it though!

Thanks for sharing. DD has no fear when it comes to water and we let her explore her boundaries safely but this is great information to know and look out for especially in our situation as I would assume she would be fine once she got out of the pool safely.

That is so scary! I am still not sure if I would recognize it though - which makes me even more scared!

OMG this is terrifying. I've never heard of this.....and now I'm scared to rinse DS's hair in the bath! He chokes every time. Yikes!
