LO has terrible eczema but the pedi has us using cetaphil with kenalog and it has almost cleared it up. He is 14 weeks and still has cradle cap, I think as a result of the eczema. I noticed today he must be scratching the back when he is sleeping because it is getting scabby. Someone told me selsan blue will clear it right up so we will try that tonight. Any other remedies?

For cradle cap what worked for us is using baby oil and using a soft baby brush to work it off, brushing firmly, getting under the dead skin. Then shampoo to make sure you get the oil off. If it is scabbing, though, you may want to avoid that area and let it heal first. I also used selsun but it was so medicated smelling and didn't make much of a difference for us.

Ehh I would not use selsun blue on a baby. Try some Coconut oil.
Ps I just used selsun blue tonight on my own head and its burning right now. It is medicated. I would not use on a baby.

I agree with coconut oil, I use that stuff for everything.

That shampoo smelled and didn't work for my oldest. I ended up using Aquaphor. With my second I used a newborn brush on his scalp after every bath and worked out as much of the dead skin as I can and he never had cradle cap.

Selsun works great and you only have to use it a few times. I always recommend it and I used it with my first daughter. Just know that it makes their little heads a bit tarry smelling... but it works like a charm!

We used Head and Shoulders once and it cleared it right up. Then we made sure to wash LO's hair every night with gentle shampoo (Weleda's Calendula) and brush her hair. It never came back! (The not washing so often, as often recommended, actually made her CC worse.)
