I'm beginning to be ashamed at how long I can go before even realizing I'm overdue to shave. :-O
How has your shaving schedule changed after kids?

Hahahaha I am too ashamed to even answer this question. It's hard when my toddler is pretty much in the bathroom for every shower I take....

Wait, legs or lady parts? I shave my legs every few days because it kinda grosses me out. Ha.
eggplant / 11287 posts
It's the same. Whether I'm a mom or not a mom, I don't like being hairy.

Hahah, I am so not answering this question! .... So I guess you know my answer..

It hasn't changed, I still keep shaving during my morning shower.
bananas / 9118 posts
I'm too tired to keep up with most of that stuff, not that it was a big priority before either. it's just non-existent now
eggplant / 11716 posts
I still shave legs and underarms every other day. But before kids, I used to get a full Brazilian wax every month (ouch) and now I don't wax at all--I just use a "personal trimmer" at home and probably not as often.

Hasn't changed. Still shave my legs every day and get a brazilian every month. I just do my wax on weekends now....when I'm back at work, I'll do it on my lunch break.

Has anyone gotten a Brazillian wax while pregnant? I am very tempted to but scared of extra sensitivity during this time.

Same. Even if I don't manage to shower I shave while DH holds LO. It's one of my OCD issues. I can't handle hair or stubble, though I've managed to stop shaving my underarms more than once per day.

Oh heavens. I couldn't do a good job while pregnant, and when I finally tried, my toddler busted into the bathroom, told me I have boy legs, and then offered his assistance. I'm traumatized. Now I limit the shaving to times when he's not home and the baby is not screaming, and those times are few and far between!
papaya / 10343 posts
actually maybe a bit more now! But I was never fully on top of my game anyways lol. Luckily I'm not very hairy. But before LO I worked at home and wore yoga pants every day (her sole first year of life too). Now that she's a toddler I try to get out of the house at least once/day and thus I put on real clothes, which during the summer means capris or dresses. So I sort of have to stay on top of it.

@Kimberlybee: yup, 2 days before my induction, and I did 6 weeks prior due to cutting myself while shaving. I think it depends on the wax/waxer. I love Europian Wax Center.
nectarine / 2115 posts
It's pretty bad. I used to feel embarrassed about going out with even slightly-prickly legs. Since LO1 was born, I only shave occasionally... usually if I have a reason to wear a dress (ladies' night out!) or something. And even then I only shave up to my knees

More or less the same... If I get to take a shower then I usually will have a few mins to at least shave, haha!

Uhh, pre-pregnancy, I hardly shaved. I'm Asian and have super fine hair. I can't shave with a razor because it makes hair come in thicker. If I need to remove hair, I use nair or a cream.
With that said, I can't remember the last time I had to use nair... Like last year maybe?
I did ask the DH last night if he ever noticed my legs being hairy and he actually said that was one of the perks of marrying an Asian was the not having to worry about me being hairy. (He was being funny, of course.) Of all my siblings, I don't think we've ever had to worry about shaving. Even my brother, he can't grow a beard and his legs and arms do have hair after a few decades of growing but it's not thick.

@ms.line: @bluestriped bee: I love the fact that I never have to shave... my bikini area is small (small area, I mean? square inchage? haha) so it's not too crazy down there, and my arms/legs/armpits are a step below peach fuzz. My only "worry" is that I won't know how to teach Char to shave (if she wants to) when she gets older!
hostess / wonderful apple seed / 16729 posts
@HabesBabe: Haha. I'm hoping to show my daughter to use nair. I used to shave back in high school and now have permanent razor bumps on my legs. Hoping my daughter can use a cream instead of a razor.
Oh, I'm pregnant so there is no way I'm shaving my bikini area now. Haha.

I'm lazy and use an electric razor to keep things pretty neatly trimmed. And I shave about twice a week....getting into bed at night after a hot shower and freshly shaved, smooth legs is such a wonderful feeling (and I hate the prickles).
eggplant / 11287 posts
It's the same--for legs, lady parts, arm pits. I can't stand being hairy.
eggplant / 11287 posts
@Kimberlybee: I did! At 25 weeks pregnant! I got a sugar wax rather than a traditional one...it's much easier on your skin!
watermelon / 14467 posts
It's about the same, but I'm more conscious about my lady parts since pregnancy. I usually shave my legs/underarms 3-4 times a week, and everything else is kept tidy with the electric razor.
grapefruit / 4187 posts
The biggest change is that I can no longer remember when I last shaved. So instead of every 2-3 days I will do every day.. Or once a week, lol.
pineapple / 12566 posts
I'm half Asian and I barely have to shave my legs as it is and I definitely do it less often these days. Luckily, it's not really noticeable.
blogger / honeydew / 7081 posts
It's about the same I think! Legs get shaved once a week....thank goodness for super blonde, slow-growing leg hair. Underarms are a few times a week. Lady parts...well, I'm 35 weeks pregnant so that hasn't been looked after in awhile.
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@Kimberlybee: yep! I got it done the last time at 37/38 weeks. No difference.
@Rainbow Sprinkles: sugar wax? Never heard of that.
persimmon / 1339 posts
About the same as before which is almost never. I was blessed with very fine blonde leg hair so as long as my legs aren't scaly-dry the hair doesn't show up much. I will still shave every now and again for a wedding or going to the beach or something.
As for my lady parts........I've really fallen down on the job there, but I'm having a hard time caring about it.
grapefruit / 4997 posts
@MrsSRS: @youboots: @Smurfette: Cool, I need to get this done soon. I am so tired of shaving down there (sorry tmi) and will need to shave before my c-section anyway so I will go for a Brazilian wax this pregnancy.
@Rainbow Sprinkles: Sugar wax sounds great, I will look into it. Thanks!
persimmon / 1135 posts
hahah yes i'm lucky if i have time to shower every day.. and now that i'm into my third tri i can't see anything down there. think it's definitely time for a wax!
