Alright so I’m almost 11 weeks pregnant and was diagnosed with Shingles last night. They put me on an anti viral but the rash is sooooo painful. Can anyone give me some pregnancy safe ideas to soothe the pain and burning?

My grandmother had shingles several years ago.
She swore by cool oatmeal baths and calamine lotion. I think the also put a paste of baking soda/power(??) on her legs at night before going to sleep.
I would think these would all be safe for pregnancy, but I would double check with your ob.
I'm so sorry mama, I hope you only have a mild case!

@jennlin821: I wish it was mild. I have an ultrasound a week from Friday. I’m terrified. It’s all over my right side from belly button to spine.

I've had shingles. Calamine lotion helped a bit, but unfortunately, it just takes time to pass. I'm sorry. I hope you feel better soon!!
