To all those asthma mommas out there... how did you asthma change while pregnant? better, worse? I have a very mild form and I find myself using my inhalers more frequently, do you ever have anxiety over not having enough oxygen reach the baby?

I'm 11.5 weeks, and so far my asthma has been easily controlled. Only a few times have I felt like I'm not getting enough air. I still have a long ways to go though!

I have asthma.
With my first pregnancy, my asthma became so horribly uncontrolled my OB threatened to hospitalize me. I was having trouble breathing. I got bronchitis, which definitely didn't help things, and had to take steroids. I was usingh rescue inhaler on an almost daily basis.
Even after delivery my asthma continued on that path, when it was something that flared up only when I was sick pre-pregnancy. My PCP ordered me a nebulizer that I used far too often and eventually I was referred to a pulmenologist/allergist who did allergy testing on me and who put me on Advair and Singulair, and advised me to consider allergy shots. We ripped up the carpet in our house instead and put laminate flooring in throughout.
The advair and singular combo works wonders for me. I also take Zyrtec each night. I haven't had an asthma attack in over a year.
I got pregnant a second time in December 2013 and had zero problems throughout that pregnancy.

I haven't noticed a difference in my asthma, although towards the end of pregnancy my lungs have been feeling squished so it's a little harder to breathe. I have pretty mild asthma, though, so I'll usually just take a few puffs of my inhaler if I need it.
Just make sure you're keeping up communication with your doctor about it!

My asthma stayed about the same with my first pregnancy. Right now during my second pregnancy, it's about the same. Luckily, inhalers don't effect the baby, so use it when you need it. For me, with pregnancy, being out of breath is the hardest, but it doesn't negatively effect my asthma.

I have asthma and I'm almost 16 weeks with my first baby. I was already on a maintenance inhaler (Pulmicort) and Singulair so my asthma remains well controlled. I did get bronchitis early on and it took a while to feel completely better, but I'm good now. I'm able to exercise the same as before.
I would definitely check with your doctor if you're getting a flare up. Mine checked my pulse oxygen when I was sick and said I was getting plenty of oxygen and so was the baby.
