Just kidding... would be kind of awesome though.

I think my husband deserves one! He's had to show his stuff to lots of doctors. And have surgery.
cantaloupe / 6630 posts
Ha ha! My husband wants one, he wants a watch. I tell him his part took hardly any time at all, while my part takes nine months. He said that was my fault for not being as efficient as him, lol.

The baby is the second present! The first present is... The conception. Haha
blogger / watermelon / 14218 posts
hehe. pushing is a little different from the dad's role in conception, traditionally... if Wagon Sr. wanted a conception present I'd definitely get him one!

@mrbee: Haha. DH would probably agree with you.
Consider DH's health and fertility problems, I would be open to getting him a small gift. Not as big as a push present though.
Pushing baby out of my who-hah takes considerably more effort. I think my DH would agree.

My mister is getting a keezer! It's also his big bday gift and after 3 years of actively trying to get pregnant....I think it's well deserved!

Ya I will get DH something. But probably only to score points so I get a bigger push present. Sue me!
honeydew / 7589 posts
Exactly. The present is the conception. That was more sex than we'd normally have in a month, during the O week. lol

When we conceive my husband is going to get a present. It's called me quitting all my whining about all the other pregnant women in the world. Also, he's going to get the gift of rubbing my feet for nine whole months! Lucky guy

Haha, love the idea that the conception is the present!
Also, the boost to DH's ego was a good enough present - I swear, he strutted around for weeks afterwards, just so proud of the fact that he got me pregnant. In fact, the night we got our BFP, he sent a text to his brother saying "Boom, got 'Ree' pregnant". He's not normally like that at all, but he was just so proud of himself, he wanted to share it with the world!

You know what, I think I will get him something. He wants a new Kindle (he stood on his!), maybe I'll get him one.
The opinion here seems to be that additional BDing is a good enough present and I'd agree normally but my poor husband is hating this process - he can't take his medication (as it causes bith defects) - so he's in a lot of pain and tired all the time and the BD marathons are actually quite a chore for him, I think.
So I think he deserves a present he'll enjoy as much as your DHs have enjoyed the BDing!

My husband bought a 50 cc dirt bike for our unborn son and he's getting it restored...I'd call that his conception present.

Hahaha.. DH bragged about his super sperm when we told people I was pregnant... his conception gift was the fact I was his DD..
cantaloupe / 6206 posts
If conception lasted 48 hrs and involved pushing a bowling ball through his genitals - then sure.

@JoJoGirl: LOL! So true! We do all the hard work. Their job is done right away and it is all fun.

um, no! lol i'm with @jojogirl (your comment was awesome!!)

@Andrea: that's what I say a Push Present is! The baby! For both of us.
Although....it is kind of a good idea if you're into gifts like that. Mommy gets a gift for pushing the baby out, Daddy gets a gift for ...well....you know.
GOLD / wonderful grape / 20289 posts
Yeah not only do we push but we go through nine months of growing/carrying the baby. The boys job in making the baby is the fun part!
That being said, I'm still in the camp where my LO was my push present.

We had sex 21 times in a 21 day period in which I had to do all the work because of his back injury. Pretty sure I am the one who deserves the conception present

Haha. I guess Mr. Blue sort of did since I gave him a watch as part of how I told him I was pregnant. Starting trends over here at the Blue house.

bahahaha yeah... like DH did SO much work seriously... you guys get the better end of the deal.

@krsmall: Oh I know right!! It's like a conquest for them... "yeah... I got her pregnant" and then they're all smug. gross. *slaps*
blogger / wonderful cherry / 21616 posts
@mrbee: really?? my husband was pretty smug at first... then it morphed into general excitement so I guess it wasn't like that the whole time.
admin / wonderful grape / 20724 posts
@Coco Bee: Sure it's not uncommon to be proud. But I was never smug or conquest-y... as far as I know, at least!
blogger / wonderful cherry / 21616 posts
@mrbee: proud in an emotional way; or proud in an egotistical way? I guess I could see a bit of both depending on the guy.
And you're right - not every guy is like that.. I apologize for the generalization.
GOLD / cantaloupe / 6581 posts
Hahahhaa... I actually got my DH a really cute Dad book for when we finally conceive... does that count??
GOLD / papaya / 10206 posts
I would get DH a conception present, but I love presents and shopping, so every opportunity to shop is a good one for me.
