DD2 is due in 6 weeks and while we are set on clothes, I personally feel like she kind of "deserves" her own coming home outfit but I need inspiration! Bonus points if it was less than $20!

She just wore a neon pink polka dot zip-up sleeper from Baby Gap. I liked that it was easy to put on.
ETA: I also made a shadow box with LO's hospital blanket, coming home outfit, hospital bracelet, umbilical cord clip thingy, and birth announcement and I loved that it was small enough to fit in there!

This is a couple of weeks later, but she wore this sweat jacket and matching leggings with a side-snap shirt.

This is what she will be coming home in (hopefully in 2 Mondays!) It was supposed to be DD2's outfit, but it ended up being cold, so we brought her home in a fleece sleeper.

Right now the hospital bag contains a simple footed sleeper from Carter's, and that won't change unless I get a random inspiration. I told DH the internet says I'm a bad mom since I didn't plan a special coming-home outfit!

@PawPrints: haha I only feel the need to make its special because LO1's was kind of frilly and I don't want her to feel slighted lol

The top at bottoms I got on clearance from Baby Gap. The onesie is from Jcrew and the headband is from an Etsy shop Guguberry

I've been thinking I need to buy a special outfit for DD2 too! Here is DD1 in her going home outfit. It was a plaid and argyle sweater set (Nov will be a little different than April)

@PawPrints: I'm a bad mom too! We had a light blue fleece sleeper with silver glitter polka dots. It was gifted to us and the only newborn outfit she had.

Love this thread! My little girl will hopefully be here in the next 5 weeks and have been thinking about this myself. I have cute sleepers but want to go shopping with my DH to pick out something extra cute to go home in.

I am just planning on packing a few cute sleepers, some cotton & some fleece in both newborn and 0-3 just in case. nothing super fancy. But I got her a really cute hospital hat because I don't like the one our hospital gives out so that's mostly what i'm so excited about! And she has a fleece onesie outerwear type coat thing in case it's still cold in April! so we'll see. But nothing too pretty or fancy...

This was DD, almost 3 years ago. A little sleeper and matching watermelon hat. Crying her head off, of course.

DD1 had a a frilly outfit from gymboree - it was a pain. DD2, had a simple sleeper also from gymboree. SO much easier. I like having a one piece and not having to mess with the cord stump.

@LuLu Mom: ooooh M had that set. It is the sweetest!!!

My LO wore the same dress I wore when I went home from the hospital, 33 years earlier! LO #2 will probably wear it too, with a different bow.

@LuLu Mom: This was one of my favorite outfits from when LO was small! I love the colors and the butterflies!
DH picked out the going home outfit. It was technically a boy's sleeper but it had dinosaurs on it and said "I wasn't born yesterday" plus a matching green hat. It wasn't fancy but it was cute and comfortable. Plus it was on sale which is always awesome.

DD was just in a purple carter's sleeper with the beanie with a bow from hospital.

@Anagram: that is amazing!! What an awesome thing to share with your children!

DD wore a Gymboree (5-9 lb) sleeper. Easy to get on, but a little special with the cute ruffles.

@Mrs. Sunshine: This Gap toddler dress is super similar so I'm totally considering buying it for LO #1, so they can be matchy-matchy when LO #2 comes home from the hospital again in the infant dress. But maybe that's a teensy bit crazy. http://www.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=1025372&vid=1&pid=408232002

@PawPrints: Dont feel bad! I was in such denial that LO would come before her due date (I was convinced she'd be late) that Id only washed things I'd bought from consignment and hadnt packed anything! Her outfit was a random onsie and leg warmers that DH grabbed when we went back to feed the dogs...

@MenagerieMama: That makes sense to me! Yeah I figure there will be billions of opportunities to photograph her in cuter outfits, but anything to do with birth and the hospital I am all about convenience.

@Mrs. Sunshine: I just picked up a cute outfit with a long sleeve onesie with some lace/eyelet detail and a pink tutu skirt on clearance at Target for $8. Not sure what the weather will be like so it might not be warm enough, but that's what blankets are for! Should have taken a picture of it, but it's in the car now.

Was gifted this outfit at baby shower! Pants were a little long

@FaithFertility: I feel like I'm over thinking it because nearly all newborns don't really got in clothes anyway....lol I love her cheeks!
@NeekieRose: I'll totally check out target today!
