I think any of those ideas would be fun!

I had my baby shower in the suite at the minor league baseball stadium. It was coed, so it was a nice way to make boys be happy about being there. DH got to throw the first pitch- he loved it!

I even offered a brewery venue and it was a no go for my husband. And my MIL wasn't too keen on the idea either and since she was the one paying for it I ultimately decided it wasn't worth fighting for.

Backyard BBQs are great co-ed showers too!

I had 35 guests a local bakery/restaurant!

@mrsjyw: I loved having a coed shower because I hate being center of attention. It turned out to be really nice- the boys watched the game while the girls watched us open presents.

@regberadaisy: My husband knows how much I hate being center of attention, so he was happy to be there for me. And it was fun for him to get to celebrate LO- it's his baby too!

I had a small simple shower at my home.

My shower was like @rubies. It was small and simple at my house. I did not throw it, nor was it my idea. I think that is WAY too much stress to put on yourself when you're also pregnant. I would suggest, if a friend or two doesn't step up, to ask your Mom to take charge. Believe me, I was stressed about ours because it was at our house and I wasn't even planning it!!

I'll have several smaller showers, I know DH's side will be at a community center because his family is huge and everyone likes to attend. I'm guessing my families and my friend's one will be at hostesses homes.

@artbee: nah, she's not really like that with money. She just can be a little traditional/old fashioned on certain things.

I had a small shower at a restaurant. 15 of my closest friends. I hate being the center of attention so I really wanted to keep it small and intimate. I had a blast!

A shower at a house is always comfortable and cozy. I personally love going to showers at people's houses. But on the flip side, you end up having to do the clean up afterwards. Whereas at a restaurant, it's not as cozy but there's zero clean up! I didn't want to burden my friends so I suggested we do it at a restaurant.
