My girls LOVE each other, but my oldest gets rough when she gets excited and tends to hurt or knock down my 15 month old. Talking to her and warning her doesn't seem to make a difference... she's just *so* happy and excited LOL
I never know if it's better to intervene or let them sort it out. I want DD2 to know that I'll protect her, but I also don't want to constantly correct DD1 and make her feel like she's always doing something wrong. *sigh*
How do you handle it in your house?

@BabyBoecksMom: at 15 months I would intervene. Once they are both verbal then they can work it out w/o you (sometimes)

I know nothing about how girls are, but as you know, mine are the exact same ages and wrestling matches break out constantly. As long as nobody is actually crying, I just let them sort it out. Sometimes I throw a raw steak in the middle and let them fight for their dinner as well, to save time

Mine are almost 2 and almost 4 and I referee sometimes but try to let them handle it on their own. I only intervene of one of them cries/asks me to, and sometimes not even then

) ... and our house is all tile, so when she falls and hits her head, it hurts. But, C is still not verbal, so she will just bite or claw at W to get her to back off... or cry. So. Much. Fun. HAHA
What age do kids learn to be gentle??

I think you have to constantly remind them to be gentle. I don't usually intervene until one of them cries. The toddler has recently started saying, I'm sowwy when he makes his brother cry. It's pretty much the most adorable thing ever.

@BabyBoecksMom: mine are six and I have know idea when they learn to be gentle. In fact they are more rough now. Our house is like a constant wrestling match. I sometimes think it's because I have so many boys but then I see. my daughter jump on top of them while giving a war cry worthy of Xena. I think siblings just wrestle. I stop it when someone gets hurt.
