Oh and one last thing, can you organize a meal train for her? If she's just one person, she may not need giant casseroles, but maybe different foods split into smaller containers and frozen? Or gift cards to local places that deliver?

And as a gift, I would give her Amazon Prime, if she doesn't have it already. Everything else--living in boston, it will be easy peasy. She can have groceries delivered.

@Anagram: She already has a meal train set up by one of her other friends, so that's good. Her sister actually lives a few towns over as well, so I think will be around to help at the beginning as she can!

@JoJoGirl: I would think just being there for her, emotionally and physically (showing up when she needs a visitor, helping with anything you can) would be the best thing you could do. You sound like an awesome friend!

I think a woman can do anything they set their mind to and she will be just fine. My BFF wasn't a SMBC but her very toxic fiancé left her while she was pregnant and she did it all alone for 4 years. She did great and didn't have a lot of extensive help or financial resources. I had an easy baby and was also expecting the worst, and I think I would have been just fine to go it alone. I wouldn't freak out for her if she isn't or at least don't let her know your feelings. Just be there to offer support in any way you can. I'm sure she will do great !
