I'm looking at some clothing for fall for R and I'm not sure which size to order. She is currently 22.5 pounds and 31.5" tall at 13 months old.
12-18 months is 22-27 pounds but 29"-31"
18-24 months is 27-30 pounds but 31"-33"
I'm thinking about ordering some dresses in size 12-18 months and just adding leggings underneath if necessary. I'm worried that 18-24 months will be huge, weight-wise. Thoughts?

We have this same issue where C is consistently a size larger in height than she is in weight. We buy the bigger size.

I would buy the bigger size. They're so close in size that it really isn't that noticeable.

@loveisstrange: yeah, that makes more sense. Maybe it'll last a little longer because I could add leggings underneath later in the winter.

I would definitely order the 12-18, especially if it's a dress. I think the 18-24 would probably be huge on her.
ETA: looks like my opinion's the opposite one! Haha- maybe bigger is better?

@swedishfish: Thats absolutely my thinking. When it's huge, we layer, belt, cuff, etc. When it gets smaller, we wear leggings underneath, etc. I hate when she outgrows stuff quickly.

For dresses I'd size up. For shorts or skirts I'd buy by weight. DD had trouble during baby gap because by height she'd need two sizes bigger by height but they're so huge in the waist.

K is about 20lbs and 30-31"? I've been buying 18-24 for everything except bottoms so she can wear them longer. I don't mind the extra length - width doesn't seem to change too much.
