Any suggestions on how to sleep train baby with toddler in the next room? We live in a smallish apartment in nyc and our bedrooms are right next to one another. Taking all suggestions!

i'm going through something similar. the crying to fall asleep didn't seem to bother LO #1 at all, since it happened before LO 1's bedtime. now we're doing some CIO for eliminate a night feeding--the crying doesn't seem to bother LO 1. there is one time where i think LO 2's early morning crying (around 5am) may have led to LO 1's early wakeup, but otherwise it doesn't seem to have been an issue. apparently kids can sleep through a lot.
we have white noise machines and humidifiers in each room. also, i roll up a towel or bath mat and shove it under the door crack.

I'm worried more about LO1 waking up LO2 from naps/in the early morning than the other way around! I find it hard to get LO2 to sleep when LO1 is running around and making a noise!

@edelweiss that's good to know. I'm going to have to give it a go no matter what but at least I have some hope that my toddler will not be up all night! @mrsvdv I feel your pain! But if I turn up the white noise then it usually works out!

@Mammabare: quick update. last night, LO 2 cried at 11pm and 2am, each time for 15-20 minutes. LO 2 also cried at 4am, but i only let it go for 10 minutes because i didn't want to push my luck and LO 1 would have been more wakeful at that hour. none of the crying woke up LO 1, who has the room next door. and i could hear it across the house.
but i totally get the anxiety. i am exhausted from being so anxious.

My kids seem okay with each other's cry it out or whines. My 3 year old doesn't seem to mind when the infant CIO's. They seem to put up with each other's crying dramas.
